This recently build teak cabin overhangs the jungle, yet it is just minutes away from the beach, on top of the first hill of playa Maderas. The modern open space with warm notes of teak wood opens up to the trees and lets in a nice breeze. There’s AC in the bedroom NOTE: For long term bookings (28 days or more), electricity will be metered and charged separately! Beautiful spot! Very clean, great location. Just a few minute walk to the beach. Everything you need, clean, efficient space and great vibe. We would love to come back again!
We stayed for both and extended (3monthd) and a short period of time! Marc and Marielle were very graceful, friendly and helpful host. Anything we needed they provided. Very quick responses on any need and or request. The place is very close to the beach (3min walk) and not too much of hike wich is priceless in Maderas. Very well situated considering Maderas has a lot of hills. Maderas is a beautiful beach and the surf was amaziiiiiiiiiing. They are surrounded by genuine and professional staff members. There is a good flow of air. It feels homey and lots of howler monkeys around. Haven’t seen lots of bugs between january and april. If you don’t have a car, it’s an easy 7$ ride to San Juan Del Sur with the Shuttle to do groceries and/or to change the scenery. Otherwise it’s a 20-25$ taxi ride to SJDS. We recommend staying in Casita Teka2 and we will be back soon hopefully!!! Thanks for everything Marc and Marielle! 🫶🏼
Marc y su esposa son excelentes anfitriones, lugar muy hermoso, cerca de playas, si deseas clases de surf genial es el lugar perfecto, se recomienda rentar un vehículo 4x4 y si deseas cocinar comprar para llevar pues no hay supermercado cerca, también es recomendable efectivo para pagar, no todo comercio acepta tarjetas, pero se disfrutará mucho de la experiencia en la zona, ver el atardecer desde el Hush hotel es espectacular. En general valió la pena. Volveremos

There is private parking right in front of the cabin. The beach is a 5-minute-walk away and the beach shuttle to go into town leaves from there.

Originally from Amsterdam, but I have been living in Nicaragua, San Juan del Sur since 2004. Together with my partner, I designed, built and ran Buena Vista Surf Club, a small ecolodge on the pacific coast of Nicaragua. We sold the hotel to free up more time so we can focus more on new building- and design projects. Being creative is what I love to do: I design clothes for my kids and I make most of the home decor for our accommodations. We have put a lot of love and thought into our rentals; we want our guests to have a great (holiday) experience in our accommodations. I like to add little details to them so people feel right at home. We always try to be there when guests arrive to welcome them or at least stop by for a chat. And we are always available to answer questions (by message or in person).
