The cottage was completely renovated in 2019 by the artist owners and their sensibilities shine in every detail of the immaculate interior. A perfect getaway for families or couples alike, The Pottage is sure to charm the most discerning of visitors. First built in the 1890s as a potting shed against the walled garden of the main house, the Pottage is a treat throughout. Inside, you will find light filled interiors, with wooden floors and white walls in a restrained palette that enhances the exuberant furnishings and glorious botanical artwork by the owner. The kitchen is both tastefully stark and brimming with every modern convenience, with extensive seating and views over the grounds and courtyard garden. The sitting room is both cosy and elegant, with a substantial wood burning stove providing ample warmth, a substantial wall hung smart TV and a judicious selection of books and games. The well appointed bedrooms both enjoy fine outlooks and quietly luxurious linens while the two large bathrooms complement each other decoratively. Outside, the courtyard garden is festooned with wisteria, creating a private idyll, while the grounds in front of the cottage provide plenty of opportunity for wandering and play, or simply quiet contemplation in the summerhouse. Off road parking for two cars is available. Guests also have access to the extensive woodland walks around the property, along with the beautiful palatinate summerhouse. Additional Information: Sorry, not suitable for infants. Children from the age of three years and up are welcome. Sorry, no dogs. Please note that although this is a ground floor property there are steps up into the living space.

Within walking distance of the Pottage is the beautiful village of Hoxne which is steeped in history, with King Edmund having been martyred by the Danes just a stones throw from the market square.
Hoxne is host to a handful essential amenities, including The Swan Inn of Hoxne, an excellent pub with restaurant and Hoxne Post Office, shop, cafe and delicatessen stocking a wide range of food, drink and household goods.
Just a short drive away there are a number of other eateries and pubs. The Fox and Goose in Fressingfield (six miles) and The Auberge at Eye (five miles), come highly recommended. The Old King's Head in Brockdish (three miles). Diss has an excellent vegan cafe, Amandines (six miles)
For walkers, The Pottage is situated moments from the Mid Suffolk Footpath, 20 miles through the heart of the county in quintessentially English countryside.
Suffolk is home to an abundance of beautiful villages. Within easy reach of Hoxne you can visit Eye (three miles), Debenham (seven miles), Yoxford (12 miles), Framlingham (15 miles) and Woodbridge (25 miles). For those longing for the bright lights, Bury St Edmunds is 22 miles to the south and Norwich 25 miles to the south, both deservedly famous for being some of the most attractive cities in the country.
Just four miles away, the Bressingham Steam Museum is utterly charming with over three miles of narrow gauge steam lines running through beautiful gardens.
The Pottage is located within 45 minutes' drive of the beautiful Suffolk Coast, 50 miles of heritage coastline and a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty where you can take in the sights at such beloved spots as Covehithe, Southwold, Minsmere, Thorpeness and Aldeburgh
The area has numerous historic houses and gardens open to the public including Helmingham Hall, Ickworth House and Framlingham Castle.
Historic Norwich, with it's imposing mediaeval fortification Norwich Castle, is located approximately 45 minutes' drive north of Hoxne. Within equally easy reach are Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds.
For those avid golfers, nearby Diss Golf Club welcomes non-members to its 18-hole course.
Nearby Stradbroke Swimming Pool and Fitness Centre has a state-of-the-art gym, swimming pool, group fitness classes and three floodlit outdoor clay tennis courts.
