The Hayloft Barn is a newly converted first floor, Victorian barn where every care has been taken to retain the character whilst providing comfort and luxury for a relaxing stay. You will find a kingsize bed, roll top bath, huge walk in shower, chesterfield sofa's, smart tv and a fully equipped kitchen. Suitable for well behaved dogs, fully enclosed private garden with BBQ and fire pit. The conversion of the Hayloft Barn was completed in late August 2023, meaning that everything is brand new and finished to the highest standard. This first floor, self catered barn has been beautifully restored and provides a light, airy and luxurious place to stay. Situated in the beautiful village of Thistleton, Rutland, we are just 8 miles from Oakham and 11 miles from both Melton Mowbray and the stunning Georgian town of Stamford, making it the ideal spot to explore Rutland and the surrounding area. We see it as the the perfect getaway to enjoy the area, celebrate an occasion, a visit to family or friends and with its easy access to to A1 ( 2 miles), a great stop over to break up a journey or place to commute for work in Peterborough, Stamford, Oakham, Uppingham, Grantham or Melton Mowbray. The area has so much to offer, Rutland Water, Burghley Park, Belvoir Castle, Belton House, Rockingham Castle to name but a few and is bursting with fabulous garden centres, cafe"s and well stocked farm shops. Walking and cycling are very popular within Rutland, and the area has a great selection of village pubs to re-fuel at. There is a wonderful selection of great places to eat, and if you are looking for a really special meal, the Michelin starred Olive Branch at Clipsham is just a 5 minute drive away, or the George at Stamford and Hambeleton Hall on the Rutland Peninsula are also highly recommended. On entering the barn, there is a hallway with shoe rack, storage cupboard and one of the 140year old stable partitions from below which we have repurposed along with some existing bridle hooks to provide a space to hang coats, bags and dog leads etc. This leads to an open plan kitchen, dining living area, where the original beams are a leading feature. There are 2 comfortable, Chesterfield sofas with lots of gorgeous cushions and throws. One of the sofas turns into a double bed and can provide sleeping for an extra 2 if required. A smart TV has Freeview and opportunity to use your own subscriptions. There is also a DVD player and a drawer full of DVDs for you to watch, as well as a cupboard full of board games to play on a cosy evening in. There is underfloor heating that runs throughout the barn. The country style kitchen table provides seating for 4 and is the perfect spot to work (the barn has full Wifi) or dine. The table can be extended if necessary. The kitchen and its many appliances are brand new and include an oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster. The units have a wide range of pots, pans, cutlery, trays, utensils etc and everything you may need to create delicious meals whilst staying at The Hayloft. There is a variety of glasses and serving dishes as well as a platter and pizza board. Basic cleaning products are provided for you at the property, as well as tea, coffee, sugar, milk, oil and salt and pepper. The bathroom is bright, spacious and finished to a very high standard with a quality suite. The roll top bath with bath board is the perfect spot to soak in peace and enjoy a glass of wine. There is also an enormous walk in shower, vanity unit with mirror and drawer storage. Shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and bubble bath is provided, along with a hair dryer and lovely, soft towels. A single step down leads to the bedroom, which has a luxurious, King size bed and high end, Egyptian cotton linen, and sumptuous throws and cushions. The window seats is the great spot to sit and read or enjoy a cuppa whilst looking out over the 3.5 acres of mature garden. In here, you will also find a double wardrobe with hangers, chest of drawers and bedside cabinets which give you plenty of storage. Several, local magazines have been sourced to give inspiration and further insight into what the local area has in store as well as a personal guestbook we have created with recommendations and useful numbers for everything from local pubs and restaurants to walks and the nearest shops etc. You will also find basic first aid and safety essentials and an iron and ironing board.
