Great home! The Blue Paddle Restaurant is close and topped of a brief but delightful stay!
The fridge was quite dirty. Food left behind, spills, crumbs, and hundreds of tiny dead flies. The stove had something spilled on the grill as well. Surfaces throughout the home were dusty. The main floor smelled like moth balls. After cleaning on my own, we found the home comfortable and relaxing. Plenty of room to spread out. Gorgeous view of lake. Fyi, using GPS to locate the home did not work. It took us to Hislop Landing. We had to call for directions. Fortunately, they were able to guide us there. We enjoyed the ping pong table.
In my 6+ years of using Airbnb, I’ve never encountered a place so unsanitary. To describe it as filthy would be a gross understatement. There was urine and feces caked onto the toilet seat, pillows covered in hair and stains, dirt and crumbs scattered throughout the living areas. I contacted Vacasa through the Airbnb messenger and was provided a support number. I called this number 3 separate times. Each time, I was told someone from the local team would be contacting me to evaluate the situation over the phone before sending someone to clean the home. I waited nearly 4 hours and never received a call back from Vacasa, so I reached out to Airbnb to remediate. Airbnb ultimately issued a partial refund. Vacasa should be ashamed at their lack of service. I feel bad for the home owners, whose family photos are featured throughout the house. I don’t think they’re aware that their family home now feels like a cheap motel through Vacasa’s complete and total mismanagement.
We had a great time! The combination of a well-maintained property, breathtaking views, and a welcoming atmosphere made it an awesome experience for our entire family, + 2 dogs. If you're looking for a tranquil getaway where you can unwind, connect with nature, and create lasting memories, we recommend this property.
