This historic cottage is on a quaint street where whalers used to stay. The cottage has some sea views from the lounge, bedroom, front deck and outside patio, with the mountain as a backdrop. 2 bedrooms and an inside bathroom. A second bathroom with shower, with access (outside) from the garden. An open plan kitchen/dining and lounge area leading out onto a sun deck with sea views. Out side the kitchen you will find a wind protected rustic courtyard - also with sea views - ideal for a BBQ. Simonstown Self Catering Cottage. The cottage has some sea views from the lounge, bedroom, front deck, and outside patio, with the mountain as a backdrop. The cottage has two bedrooms (one double and one with 2 single beds) and an inside bathroom. A second bathroom with a shower, with access (outside) from the garden. An open plan kitchen/dining and lounge area leading out onto a sun deck with sea views. From the deck, you can watch the marine activities with boats sailing to the harbour. Its also the ideal spot to explore the southern peninsula, like following the whale activities in the bay during the whale season. This was the best place we have stayed yet. Olden day historical charm mixed with comfort. Loved it! The fireplace is amazing, couches are comfortable, beds are super comfy. The outdoor area at the back was priceless, out of the wind, we were able to sit out there and have our meals and morning coffee. So safe too, it has alarm and just felt really secure with our little family. The kitchen has everything you could need. Honestly this place is a 10/10! The penguins are within walking distance and the walk through Simon’s Town was lovely. Our hostess Aureol was amazing, the best actually! Met us there and went through everything on arrival, so good. The front balcony is a nice touch too! Highly recommend this place!!
Absolut charmant! Ich kann es nur empfehlen, es war so ein süßes kleines Haus und so gut ausgestattet wie noch keins in Südafrika! Die Verwalterin hat wirklich an alles gedacht und wir mussten nichts vermissen. Es war zudem super sauber und schön eingerichtete. Wir würden immer wieder herkommen. Es war auch eine sehr ruhige und angenehme Umgebung, man konnte nachts mit offenen Fenstern schlafen und nichts hat gestört.
A delightful haven in Simon’s Town. The space was so lovely - beautiful old features still in tact. The balcony was great for chilling with a view in the evening. The location is perfect as the street is quiet but you are a short pretty walk from Water’s Edge beach and a slightly longer (but very easy) walk to Boulder’s Beach - amazing for a gentle swim and very baby friendly. There is also the excellent Cormorant cafe serving Deluxe coffee and great snacks just by the Water’s Edge parking lot. We were travelling with our 6 month old so the set up was ideal with a bath, cot and second room for all her paraphernalia. We felt safe in the house and in the surrounding area. Lastly (but very importantly) Aureol who was our contact for the rental was wonderfully helpful with any issues and incredibly flexible around check in and out. A joy to engage with! Couple of small things could be improved - better quality sheets, less squeaky bed, a baby high chair option - but not deal breakers.
We loved Simonstown such a cute spot tastefully furnished and a good view of the sea with a cute backyard area out of the wind everything was perfect also a really easy checkin and quick reaction to a tiny fault thanks Aureol you were fantastic
What a delightful place! We stayed for a few weeks and were perfectly at home. Walks to seaforth beach and lunches on the balcony looking at the ocean :) thanks to Aureol for all the help and quick responses! A lovey stay that will forever be in our hearts. Compared to the previous place we stayed it was a bit on the pricey side, plus all the doors/locks need some attention. We also had several little issues which were annoying to deal with, but didn’t take away for the charm. Great place for a week or two I’d say, or shorter! Don’t hesitate to book!
