Welcome to your island getaway in the beautiful Emu Bay, Kangaroo Island. Minutes walk to the pristine beach or drive if you prefer along the 4.5 kms of white sand. The Emu Bay boat ramp and jetty is a stone's throw away with exceptional fishing opportunities. The wildlife is stunning, the coastlines amazing and an adventure you will never forget. The original limestone building circa 1915, built as a schoolhouse by the locals, has been renovated to include an exceptionally bright open plan kitchen and dining area. The fully equipped kitchen provides the opportunity to prepare your home cooked favourites and the spacious deck with bbq is available for your Al fresco meals. Enjoy and dine with a view. Four bedrooms including a studio in the rear garden, two and a half bathrooms and large laundry for your convenience. Please note that the studio bedroom does not have a bathroom attached. The living area awaits for you to relax and chill including a slow combustion fire to warm up on the chilly nights and fans throughout for the warmer days.

With the perfect mix of character, comfort and coast, how could we not have a lovely relaxing holiday at the Old School House. Amazingly presented with old charm and new world conveniences. Lovely, highly responsive host. The sunrise and sunset views over Emu bay are mind blowing. We’ll be back.

As a group of five adults and a baby, we could not have been happier with our five nights at the old school house! The house is exactly as advertised - lots of space for a group to enjoy, both indoors and outdoors. The kitchen was a standout - pots and pans and crockery and utensils for every dish! We had Morning coffee on the deck, afternoons reading on the porch, and board games a plenty around the kitchen table. It was a nice short walk down to Emu Bay beach, with white sand, crystal clear water and an endless horizon to look at. Kerri was a lovely host - responsive at all times! She even helped source a baby bath for the little one. Highly recommend!
What a wonderful house, and a spectacular location. We've enjoyed spending a few relaxing days at the beach. A real highlight for us was spending an evening watching a mother and baby koala in the tree in your backyard! The house is spotless, cozy, comfortable. We have been so impressed and are already planning a return trip to the old school house. Thank you!
Pour un séjour sur l'iles des Kangourous, la vieille école de Kerri est définitivement l'endroit où loger. Kerri est adorable, une hôte exemplaire, très accessible et de bon conseil. La vieille école est magnifiquement aménagée, très spacieuse, et offre une vue imprenable sur la Emu Bay et sa magnifique plage que j'ai eu le plaisir de marcher aller-retour, une belle randonnée de 12 km ponctuée de petites saucettes poupr me rafraichir. Je recommande cet endroit tant pour des couples, amis ou toute la famille.

Walking around the neighbourhood of Emu Bay is a pleasure and delight. Meet the locals, humans and wildlife and saunter to the jetty then along the beach. The main town is Kingscote, 15 minutes drive. Ample parking.
