Peaceful, lovely views of the bush covered hills from all windows. Across the road is the original cemetery for this historic town. Beautiful mature English trees and spacious lawns peppered with the many original tombstones of the early settlers from over 100yrs ago. We are less than a kilometer (15 min walk) from the famous Driving Creek Railway and Pottery (built by my brother Barry Brickell). Easy 30 minute walk into the village of Coromandel, for cafe's and restaurants and other needs. Simply styled bedroom with queen bed, in a simple family home. Shared bathroom, separate toilet and a laundry. Shared living, dining and kitchen with delightful family of three plus Ginger (the friendly, loving cat).
The Host was very accommodating and agreed to allow us to come early - due to inclement weather on the day, which we were grateful for ! The location is handy to town shops and it was great to have off-street parking for the car.
We felt very welcomed and enjoyed the stay a lot! We got lots of cool recommodations for things to explore in the area. We had no problems and would love to come back.
I had a great stay with Romilly and the whole family, I was made to feel right at home and provided with lots of great suggestions. I would highly recommend staying here to anyone and will pass on the recommendation to any friends traveling in this area.
From the minute we walked in we felt welcomed, like one of the family. This is a quirky, homestay sort of place, and Romilly was really interesting, friendly, and a mine of inside information about the area, and in particular her late brother Barry Brickell and Driving Creek Railway. We had a lovely long chat. Breakfast was all home-made and organic, and you had a choice of tap water or filtered water from the stream behind the property to drink. Then, when I carelessly left my washkit behind, she made great efforts to contact me, and has posted it on to me. This place was a joy, and we will be back!
Semi rural. Quiet with the historic cemetery , mature trees over the road.
Easy free parking everywhere. Most facilities in walking distance except for beaches and wharf.

Richard and I are grand parents. We love gardening grow most of our own vegetables. Currently we are building a campervan. Lots of fun. The famous Driving Creek Railway and Pottery was built by my brother, Barry Brickell OBE, who was an internationally reknown ceramic artist. He died in 1916. There is also a Zipline over the forest now. We love Coromandel the regenerating forest, friendly, supportive community and the many things to explore here.
