On the top floor (with lift) of XIVth century Palazzo Contarini della Porta di Ferro, once home to noblemen, merchants and explorers, now a private family home hosting in an authentic Venetian fashion. The apartment is ravishing and exciting, the palazzo has Reception (with luggage storage) and Canal Entrance. In this local area out of the way of the main tourist flow in a strategic location, you will be less than 10 minutes on foot from the very heart of the city of Venice: Saint Mark's Square. Foresta is an exclusive and spacious apartment on the last floor of a XIVth century palazzo with a phenomenal roof terrace with a huge panoramic view over Venice and the Lagoon. The moment you step in, you will feel immediately at home, while experiencing life in a family owned Palazzo. This soft-loft with well-ventilated AC and heating and is on two floors. It has a full working kitchen, ideal to prepare authentic Italian dishes with locally sourced ingredients from the small shops in the area or the famous Rialto Market. You can then enjoy the meal either in the cozy dining area or move up to the terrace, and have a one of a kind experience above the roofs of the floating city of Venice. An aperitif with spritz and Venetian "cicchetti" at sunset on the terrace is highly suggested ;) The big living-room with wooden floors and beams overhanging against the Venetian roof is the perfect place to relax and enjoy good and happy moments together! On the upper floor, you will find two large rooms. In the luxurious and spacious master bedroom you will find a comfortable queen bed under ancient beautiful flying beams and an en suite marble bathroom, from the bedroom you will have direct access to the terrace. The second bedroom is made by two comfortable single beds and a beautiful window from where you will be able to see even the domes and bell tower of the Saint Mark's Basilica. The bathrooms are both made of marble and have a bath, along with fresh towels, all the essentials and a hairdrier. The first bathroom is en suite to the master bedroom while the second bathroom is located on the first floor.
Beautiful palazzo in the quiet Costello neighborhood. Easy walk to either San Marco or the Arsenale. Highly recommend!
The spacious suite in the palazzo is beautiful - everything you would imagine a home in Venice would look like. Despite being a traditional building, we were very impressed with, and thankful for amenties like an elevator, and modern plumbing. The master bedroom is gorgeous and both were spacious and comfortable. The views from the terrace are spectacular. The host was there to welcome us when we arrived - offered to help with our bags and gave us a tour of the suite as well. He very quick and responsive in getting us a hair conditioner when we asked for it, and had great recommendations for local restaurants to eat at. We'd stay here again if we're ever back in Venice.
