Enjoying a fantastic location at the centre of the bustling Lakeland village of Hawkshead, this beautiful property makes a wonderful holiday home for two guests exploring this magical part of the Lake District. Overlooking the village square, this imaginatively updated and tastefully decorated cottage is perfect for couples seeking a cosy romantic getaway. Within easy reach of the village’s popular pubs, restaurants and cafes, the property has impressive timber beams, a warming wood burner, exposed stonework and underfloor heating throughout. This inviting property is accessed via a set of external steps leading up to a stable door that opens into the main hallway. Stepping through, the charming open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner provides a fresh, airy and relaxing space for you both to unwind at the end of a great day. The lounge is perfect for settling back and chatting into the night, watching a movie or catching up with a good book, and has an exposed stone wall, a wood burner on the hearth, plenty of seating and a Smart TV. The dining table is to the side, perfect for sharing a romantic meal which you can cook in the spacious and stylishly designed kitchen. A glass-sided staircase leads up into the romantic and cosy bedroom which features a king-size bed and exposed wooden beams in the low vaulted ceiling. Just opposite the bedroom is a sleek and invigorating bathroom. Hawkshead is home to the Beatrix Potter Gallery and Wordsworth’s Old Grammar School and is just a mile north of the sparkling Esthwaite Water. Walkers and climbers can head to Tarn Hows, Latterbarrow, Blelham Tarn and Claife Heights (all within 2.5 miles). Other attractions include Claife Viewing Station and Wray Castle overlooking Windermere (both within 4 miles). In the west is The Old Man of Coniston and Coniston Water (both within 5 miles).
