In the heart of Cockermouth it's best placed for exploring the historic market town, and surrounding picturesque locations, with easy access to the nearby lakes and fells. The cottage is accessible via the front door only directly off the street, parking is available in front of the cottage for one car only. Additional pay and display car parks are available and close by, I'd recommend the Bitterbeck car park which is a 2 minute walk from the cottage, and open 24 hrs. You enter the cottage into a small yet perfectly formed porch, perfect for storing your muddy boots after a day on the fells. The porch opens up into a large lounge / dining room which provides a cosy place to unwind and relax. The house is east facing, meaning this room benefits from the morning sun. From the lounge you can access the newly installed kitchen, complete with all mod cons and appliances needed for a comfortable stay. From the kitchen you can also access a small outdoor yard which gets the afternoon sun. Upstairs the cottage comprises of 2 double bedrooms, both complete with a double bed and storage space for clothes etc. Bedding & towels are provided. The period features continue upstairs with original 17th century exposed beams, and an exposed brick fireplace in the bathroom. The bathroom houses a stunning (and deep) roll top bath with overhead rain shower. Due to the age of this property it stays cool in the Summer, and has gas central heating for the Winter months.
