The Gem house in Central Canterbury was nice however this wasn’t our first choice that we selected. Due to electrical fault we were told the first place was not available just a week before Christmas and given the option of the second place. I felt the place was nice however certain things were not told for example there being no light for the garden, Host had said this was due to light pollution which I haven’t heard before but also we were not allowed to use the garden post 10pm due to the noise it can cause. However legally it is 11pm. Not enough towels or toilets rolls provided for the amount of people we had (10). The heating was not working when we came in and broadband turned off. We found the broadband in the end however this was hard due to the hallway being very dark and it was the entrance too. The host advised it was due to create a mood however the bulb barely gave any light at all. We felt that instructions should be provided on use of the hot tub and fixing the boiler.

We stayed here for my best friend’s hen party. The rooms are really well decorated and there is plenty of space for 9 people. The front room has a great aesthetic (perfect for Social media!). One thing is that for a house that can host 9 there is only one toilet and bathroom which can be quite chaotic! The location of the house is on a very busy road with a lot of people walking by, so can be quite noisy in the early mornings. The location is close all the major amenities and in close distance to town. Beds were very comfortable and everything was clean and well presented. Hot Tub kept at a great temperature and we all enjoyed that very much! Had a wonderful weekend stay and would definitely recommend this house!!

Super fun house in a great location. A few teething problems on arrival - not enough towels left, no bin bags in bins or toilet paper but The Gem House we’re helpful in rectifying this the next day. Despite this we had a really good stay - the rooms are large and the beds are comfy.
