The cabin was, for the most part, the relatively secluded retreat I had been looking for for me and my family. While the host was relatively responsive, I unfortunately have to give this home a low rating as I wouldn't want for anyone else to be subjected to someone I feel was dishonest. No mention was made to me before my arrival that the hot tub was non-functional, that the pictured deck was missing from the house, or that the main source of heat for the cabin was the wood stove (I do not have a problem with this, but with the fact that not enough wood was provided and I had to source my own). Guests should be aware that a neighbor warned me that the snow plows for the area usually take a couple of days to do the neighborhood. Astoundingly the host had no preparation for snow removal for the home (including long stairway to the driveway) for us and I had to borrow a shovel from a neighbor to clear a path (which without any salt or sand was still treacherously icy).

Great place for a small group. Cabin is next to national park. Private space. Eric is responsive. The cabin WiFi and controlled heating could have been better.

Nice little house in the woods. since we were there at the end of the season the neighborhood was pretty much empty so it was extremely private. Very responsive host. Cozy house with good amenities and supplies - my husband was thrilled with the spice selection. We loved the proximity to lassen and the McGowan ski trails near by were a great option to get the dogs out. Frank's was a great lunch option and Highlands a great dinner option. We got groceries in Chester on our way in has that seems to be the closest option. One comment (not a criticism), the primary bed that was downstairs is very very tall. I am very not tall. it was a bit disconcerting trying to get up and down in the middle of the night in the dark. I ended up bringing in the stool we have in the truck for our older dog to get in and out inside and that solved my problem :-)
