The stay at Punta Cocles was relaxing and only steps from the beautiful beach where we could watch the sunrise. The beach was VERY clean and always quiet with only a few people occasionally walking or jogging along. Each night we slept to the sound of the crashing waves and sometimes the sounds of rain on the roof.

The place is on the most beautiful beach in the area! The bedrooms are beautiful, plenty of bathrooms. The little casita does not have a bug net on the bed, meaning you have to close the doors at night. There are bugs coming through the gaps in the floor/doors. The one exterior door doesn’t lock, so I felt uneasy. The area was quiet, but still. There was a giant spider on our wall before bed, so we bunked with the kids in the house with the bug net. One night we returned from the beach to no water. Apparently that’s a common thing that we weren’t warned about- I would have reported the running toilet sooner. They have water storage tanks, but not that big. The lovely caretaker came and tried to get us water (not sure how if the city shuts it off) to no avail. It came back about 10am the next day. Since my husband was down with stomach trouble we had to use a pot and get water from the jacuzzi to flush toilets. Trying to get our money back for that night since it was a real bummer.

Uns hat die Unterkunft im positiven Sinne umgehauen! Echt eine besondere Erfahrung mit der "Offenheit", natürlich ergibt sich dadurch eine sehr tropische Atmosphäre und wer Angst von kleinen Besuchern aller Art hat, sollte es sich vllt. überlegen (hat sich aber in Grenzen gehalten). Aber wir hatten eine wunderbare Zeit mit einem Faultier im Garten, mehreren Aguti Sichtungen und mein persl. Highlight - einer Zwischenlandung von 2 Soldaten-Aras! <3 Dazu kommt eine gute Ausstattung und natürlich der quasi private Strand-Zugang - einfach Wahnsinn! Der Hinweis hinsichtlich zu "versteckender" Lebensmittel sollte beherzigt werden - es kommen auch mal Affen zum nächtlichen Besuch ;)

This place is a gem. It’s right on the beach. A beautiful beach. Definitely one of our favourite places in Costa Rica. There were 2 sloths in the trees in front of the house, and we saw a lot of nice birds. The house is very open and there are no curtains or blinds (which was great for us). The open living area is very nice and we spent all of our time there. There is a container that can lock if you have valuable items.

Unforgettable experience sleeping in open air villa just a short 20 feet from a gorgeous beach. It was so relaxing and we didn’t have to take any tours because we could see monkeys and sloths and other cute animals right from the yard. One of the most relaxing vacations I ever had.
