Die Unterkunft war super und die Lage war perfekt um alle Sehenswürdigkeiten zu erreichen. Bei Problemen bekamen wir schnell Hilfe vom Gastgeber. Im großen und ganzen eine Top Empfehlung. Würden wir jederzeit wieder buchen.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The apartment is so well located in a nice quiet part of town. Plenty of nice places to eat nearby. The place is well equipped and having the terrace was a great boon as the weather was great so we had breakfast up there and evening drinks. Fabulous. Communication was very swift and responsive. I highly recommend the place. My sister and her husband have visited Venice 6 times and they say this apartment was better than all the other hotels and apartments they have stayed in. A great airbnb experience

This was our second stay; and as good as the first. The apartment is quiet and light. The terrace is very useful for lunch and drinks, even as early in the year as April. The apartment is well provided with equipment. The hosting staff put a lot of effort into trying to repair a malfunctioning dishwasher.

This is one the best and beautiful places we have stayed at that was perfect for our family. Spacious townhouse with a peaceful rooftop terrace where we had our morning coffee. Contemporary, cozy and amazing photos on the walls. We felt right at home. A lot of attention to detail in the home. We were there during the cooler months and the heater worked great. We liked how it was in a local neighborhood in Venice far enough from the loud touristy areas but close enough to get to the sightseeing spots and great restaurants. Close to the water taxi. Gerard is a wonderful host. He was great to communicate with, was flexible to work with us on the check-in time, was very helpful with local recommendations and information getting to the airport. We highly recommend this location.

My Profile: My name is Gerard and I bought this house in 2013 . I am from the UK and am an art historian, writer and artist. I taught the history of painting, sculpture and architecture for thirty years and decided that was quite enough. The Italian Renaissance was my specialty – so the idea of buying a house in one of the historical, cultural capitals of the world was not a difficult decision to make. I love the opera and classical music and Venice is full of both. My favourite things to do here are to run in the early morning, (before the tourists are up) and wander the streets in the late evening, (when the tourists are in bed). I try really hard to get lost when I’m out walking and consciously take wrong turnings to see where I end up. It’s the best way to discover the city. My golden rule is never to pass a church if the door is open; there is always some new painting or sculpture to discover inside.
