Great place to stay if you like being right in all the action while having an amazing ocean view! Restaurants and bars are just steps away so it was very convenient!

El Faro Residences as a whole was a great place. It is centrally located in downtown Playa Del Carmen. It is directly on the beach and an easy walk a block off 5h avenue with all the restaurants and shopping you could possibly want. The security was 24 hours a day present at the front and beach sides. Security would bring you an umbrella on demand. There were plenty of beach chairs always available, a laid-back vibe that was not busy, and immaculate grounds. The unit itself was not maintained directly by El Faro. It was in overall good condition and the management company was very responsive. The internet did not work when we arrived and stopped working again later during our stay. We have multiple children and it was metered internet so it may have been directly related to usage and you may be fine if you don't use a lot of internet. The management company paid the internet bill and activated the internet on request, but it ran out again during our stay. The unit had mold in the master shower and in the rooftop splash pool, nether was 100% clean. This being said the unit overall was clean and the floor was cleaned every other day. The good definitely outweighed the few flaws and I would stay here again. Come for the pool, downtown location, the well-maintained constant security, and many other amenities.
