The town centre is a 5 minute walk from the cottage. Go left out of the cottage to the end of the small row of houses and there is a small public footpath on your left, follow that along the small stream and you reach a residential street, keep walking straight on and bear right at the T junction (away from the church) and you will see the market square at the top of the street where there are 2 pubs, shops, cafes, and restaurants. There is also a book shop, clothes shop, iron mongers, as well as the grocery stores. The town centre has a Co op store, and there is a bakery, butchers, and grocery shop, and the pharmacy is a 2 min walk from the Co op along Hogshill Street (DT8 3AA )
Local walking – (2 min walk) turn right out of the cottage and at the end of the small row of houses, turn right onto the gravel path for Sawmill cottage. The entrance to local footpaths is straight in front of you, you can head to rivers, woods, fields and hills.
Beaminster has a good choice of places to eat.

You can park directly outside the cottage (it is a busy road so you may wish to find a nearby street). It is centrally located for West Dorset within easy reach of West Bay (20mins), Lyme Regis, and Dorchester. There is a local bus service that runs through the town square.
