The Silo is just as described; loved the rustic decor. It was a unique experience and Jim‘s friendliness puts you right at ease. The location was convenient and, as many have mentioned, feeding apples to the horses was enjoyable. We brought our dog with us and there was lots of room for her to run. The bunk beds wouldn’t be our first choice for beds, but they made for some laughs and served their purpose.

Jim is one of the kindest, most wonderful humans I have met through AirBnb. I actually had some things stolen from me on my road trip and Jim went out of his way to help me out - from lending me replacements from his personal belongings to allowing early check-in, and he was wonderful with my dog too (we stayed in the silo). Jim is a retired carpenter who has put a lot of work into renovating these very unique rental spaces and it shows. It's just a few miles outside of Decorah, a charming little town, and is such a peaceful setting. Jim's daughter helps him manage the listing and we texted a few times, she was lovely as well and very responsive. Great people, great town, great space - I couldn't recommend it more!

Great relaxation get away! Came up here to go fishing and hike, didnt disappoint! Jim's place is also very close to downtown Decorah which is a super cute small town. Very much enjoyed my stay!
