The place was great! Right on the water and we had a little otter family that we got to see in the mornings and the evenings. The places is exactly as advertised and was a nice little private getaway centrally located between Mt. Rainier, Olympic National, and Seattle. We we're able to have a really diverse experience in our Washington/Oregon visit from here!

If you like nature, quiet, and very out of the way retreat-like spaces, this cottage might be the place for you!

We loved the porch facing the river and the watching the water. Mattress was firm and comfortable, very hot water in the shower. But the kitchen utensils were all dirty, dried food on them. And three dead mice in the kitchen, 2 dead and obviously rotting for a few days on a glue trap behind the trash can. Really gross. Then another dead mouse found under the trash bag once we lifted it out, smelled really bad. If you are gonna leave traps out, check them before a place is rented. They had been there for days. It definitely affected our enjoyment of the place and grossed me out while in the kitchen. I didn't have gloves to pick up the glue trap and didn't feel like I should have to dispose of it myself anyway. Especially when paying a large cleaning fee in addition to 163 bucks a night.

We were excited to stay at the cabin due to the sunny, colorful interior photos which looked charming. We needed to be in Yelm a few days. The cabin felt dim and uninviting , and not what we expected. We stayed the night and left before our second night. The good thing we appreciated was that it was very quiet. The host seemed nice enough on the phone. We were expecting to be able to be right on the river and explore it, but the porch was as close as you could get due to the steep bank. The porch was not recently cleaned. We felt the interior of the cabin place could use a through cleaning. It is rustic. There is a large house behind the cabin which is apparently a long time rental. Perhaps it is more welcoming in the hot days of summer.
