北约克郡 · 整套乡村小屋 · 4室0床2.5卫 · 可住8人 · Chapel Garth-large house with parking in Staithes
Chapel Garth is an imposing property set on the upper part of the High Street at the foot of Staithes Bank adjacent to the Bethel Chapel. The house is a fantastic holiday property set over 4 floors and is finished to a very high standard and offers many facilities for the holiday maker. Its two key advantages over other cottages in Staithes are on-site parking for up to two cars and a patio to the rear with elevated views over Roxby Beck towards Cowbar.
Bring your own towels!! I start with that because at the time of booking, and a quick check of the property details the night before we arrived, it is not at all obvious towels are not provided. The property is very lovely. It’s a great size for two families, plenty of storage and nicely decorated. Very handy to have two lounge areas when travelling with children/teenagers. It was clean and well presented. You can just about squeeze two cars on the drive. A couple of other things to note, the table only seats 6. We were a party of 7 and the property sleeps 8. A couple of missing essentials in the kitchen (scissors and pincers) and the extractor fan is strangely low over the hob - a couple of minor bumps and near misses! The location is EXCELLENT! A few moments from the village centre and the sea. And to have parking is a real positive - parking in the village is unheard of! Would certainly recommend.
A beautiful home in an amazing location in Staithes. Property was as described with a lovely kitchen, comfy beds and large bathrooms. Finished to a high standard with all necessary amenities. Having a driveway was a huge perk and due to property location you can easily amble down to the pubs, shops and harbour or walk up up onto the Cleveland way. We had a perfect Christmas holiday!
Beautiful house and location and very cosy and ideal for a large family. We really loved it there.
The village of Staithes is situated within the North York Moors National Park and nestles in to the cliffs either side of Roxby Beck and is protected from the North Sea by the cliffs of Cowbar Nab. The heart of Staithes is the tiny harbour with the traditional coble fishing boats and the RNLI Staithes and Runswick Lifeboat station. Historically Staithes (pronounced “Steers” by the locals) was an important fishing and smuggling community. In its heyday it was the largest fishing village on the north east coast and the home of Captain James Cook during his apprenticeship before he joined the Navy.
The easiest way to travel to Staithes is by car and you can approach from the north via Teesside on the A1/A19 and A174 or from the south on the A64/A169 via Whitby and then along the coast on the A174. Travel via train is also possible and there are mainline stations at Whitby and Saltburn and a good Arriva bus service between Middlesbrough and Whitby.
自我介绍
I have lived and worked on this stretch of the stunning North York Moors Coast since July 2005. Following our relocation from Princes Risborough in Buckinghamshire my husband Kevin and I set up our own business Stay in Staithes promoting and managing holiday cottages on behalf of the owners based, as the name suggests, in the village of Staithes.
