Philip's house is extremely clean, well decorated and furnished, and he is an excellent communicator; responding quickly both before and during our stay. Unfortunately, we had a problem with hot water throughout our stay, but Philip replied quickly and attempted to sort it to the best of his ability. Apart from that issue, the house itself was perfect for my partner and my couple of days walking in the Lake District.

A Lovely Cottage, cosy and a very comfortable bed. Would recommend Gitty Cottage for a short or longer stay and would definitely stay again.

The cottage is beautifully furnished and everything in it is good quality and it felt more like a home than a rental. Absolutely everything you need for a good stay including a washing machine which does a 30 minute programme which was very welcome after 4 days on the road. The bed is on the mezzanine floor but there is a solid handrail and the stairs are not too steep and it was never a problem. The bed is very comfortable and the bedding again lovely quality. The only drawback for some might be that there is a lovely deep bath, with a shower attachment but as the water tank is a bit small be warned that it might need you to push the boost button in the cupboard behind the bath before you run a second bath. It didn’t cause us any problems once Philip told us this. There is a timed radiator in the kitchen/dining area which is effective but there are also two very effective large radiators which are manually controlled and heated up almost instantly. Great restaurants walkable.

Lovely stay. Had everything you could need and was warm. Great location near the river and in the centre of town too. Will be back if ever in the area again!
