Poacher's Cottage is a tiny, timber-framed C18th cottage, located at the edge of a conservation area in the historical market town of Halesworth. Dog-friendly, it offers a perfect respite from the hectic pace of the world, with endless walks along leafy Suffolk lanes and the nearby unspoilt beaches at Southwold, Dunwich and Walberswick only a short drive or cycle away. The town itself offers cafes, pubs, restaurants, delis, antique shops, a fishmonger, a butcher and even a bookshop! Our little cottage has one large bedroom with original oak beams and a dressing room attached, complete with an old writing desk nestled under the window looking out over the fields. For those of you looking for peace and quiet, for room to think or write, this wonderful space is a perfect place to sit and create. The beam-lined living room is delightfully cosy, with a large sofa, blankets and throws, armchair and floor cushions. There's an open fireplace, TV, and bookcases filled with books, including a vast range of books on food, should the whim take you to get creative in the kitchen. The kitchen has a dishwasher and microwave, induction hob, oven and fridge freezer. The kitchen is equipped with all you should need should you wish to cook but, of course, you are within walking distance of many fine restaurants, pubs and cafes. The bathroom has a waterfall shower and a beautiful cast iron bath in which to indulge and soak your cares away. The conservatory leads out onto the patio and garden behind. Here you can sit in all seasons and enjoy the tranquility of nature. If it should rain, there is no better room in the house to be, whilst you enjoy the sound of the pitter-pat on the corrugated roof. The garden has a firepit for the cooler nights and a table and chairs for you to take your breakfast on the patio, or perhaps an aperitivo or two before dinner. Poacher's Cottage welcomes up to 2 well-behaved dogs. They are allowed the run of the downstairs of the property. The stairs are steep and we do not encourage your canine friends on the upper floor. This allows us to keep the sleeping area pet-free for all our guests, some of whom may have allergies. We also ask that you don't leave your dogs unattended in the property. Even the most well behaved dog will be likely to bark in your absence and we are always considerate of our neighbours.
