"Rex the Bus" is unique, fun and just a little bit quirky. This double decker bus has been converted to the highest standard and connected to mains electricity, water and drainage. Enjoy panoramic views of the countryside from the windows, watch the sunrise from your double bed or cabin bunk bed. Heating and a wood-burner will keep you warm and snug, whilst the kitchen area provides plenty of space to cook up a delicious meal. There is a shower downstairs and a loo and basin upstairs. Rex the bus is in a rural location, situated close to the owners Farm House on a small holding of 10 acres. Look out for Romeo, Hamlet and Othello our coloured Ryeland sheep, chickens, our dogs, Maggie and Marmalade and any other animals we have at the time of your stay, together with natures own wildlife. Close to the town of Yeovil and Sherborne where a there are numerous supermarkets, pubs and restaurants. The Jurassic coast is approximately 35 minutes drive away.

Rex the Bus was as quirky and charming place to stay as it looks in the photos. Our boys (9 and 4) loved it from the moment they got inside. Jo had got the wood burner going before we arrived, so it was immediately warm and comfortable. The location is very quiet and peaceful - just the sounds of the stream and the sheep - so perfect for a glass of wine outside in the evenings. We did a couple of easy day trips to Abbotsbury and Glastonbury, and the location would have been great for a day on the beach if we had an extra day. Really happy with our stay, and would recommend the location (and our host) to others.
Jo was a lovely friendly person putting in time to chat to us, and her bus Rex on her land was a truly brilliant escape for our family. So comfortable, cosy and beautifully decorated it was not missing any mod cons but the fun and magic factor is so high for the children. They loved pretending to drive the bus, the bunk beds, and being in nature - running around the field and lying in the hammock, toasting marshmallows and meeting the Shakespearean named fluffy sheep. It was idyllic. You won't regret going. We did a walk from the bus past the Treacle Eater Jack and it was gorgeous. It is very warm with wood burner and radiators and so peaceful too.
Had an amazing 2 night stay on Rex the bus! Jo was an excellent host had left a book full of local things to see and do and also took our children to see the 2 hour old lambs In the field next door which absolutely made their day! The bus is so homely, peaceful and cosy with everything you need inside, the board games, dvds and books were a nice little extra touch. We visited Nine springs 5 minutes down the road for a long walk along all of the waterfalls. 35 minute drive to Weymouth beach. Can’t wait to come back!
Visiting Rex the Bus is so much fun, we’ve come back for a third time! My two young children just love exploring the lovely garden, listening to the stream, watching the sheep, sitting in the drivers seat, looking out of the windows…… it’s simply a lovely place to stay. Full of bus character, but so homely and cozy, and equipped with everything you need. Jo has always made us feel so welcome. Even when the wind was howling outside, we were all snug in the soft cosy beds. Such a lovely place to stay! Until next time Rex! xx

"Rex the bus" is located in the pretty village of Barwick, just outside of Yeovil and has a village pub and historic church. The town of Yeovil, approximately 1.5 miles away, has everything you need - supermarkets, chemists, parks, cinema, restaurants, swimming pool etc etc, whilst the town of Sherborne with its stunning Abbey is approximately 6 miles away. Yeovil Junction railway station is within a 15 minute walk of the bus, with direct routes to and from London. The fabulous Jurassic coast can be reached in approx 35 minutes and the area is surrounded by some stunning National Trust properties and other interesting places to visit.
