There is plenty of space to gather and celebrate, but also intimate nooks for relaxing, reading or just enjoying some time to yourself. There is a great pool space with covered sitting and plenty of furniture. The beach has both shaded and non-shaded areas, volleyball net, and a beautiful pier to enjoy morning sunrises, afternoon sun bathing, and evening sunset sky hues. This home is unique, in that you can rent either the upstairs 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom home, or the lower 3-bedroom, 1-bathroom home. Each level has its own kitchen facilities and living area and offers doors leading to outdoor spaces. And you’ll never have to share: Rent one level, and we’ll leave the other empty. How far is Casa Amarillo from the airstrip/San Pedro? -We are located 3 miles south of San Pedro town, the road is partially paved and partially hard-packed sand. How do we get around the island of Ambergris Caye? -Your beach home is in the south end area of the island, away from the hustle and bustle of San Pedro Town. While taxi service is available on island (pay direct), most of our guests enjoy the convenience and novelty of renting a golf cart. You must have a valid driver’s license and be over 18 to drive a golf cart. Golf cart rental payment can be done upon receipt of vehicle. What’s included with our home rental? -We start you off with the basics: Coffee, coffee filters, sugar, salt, pepper, paper towel, dish soap, toilet tissue, laundry soap, hand soap, shampoo. All towels and linens are provided WIFI is complimentary Is the house air-conditioned? - Only the bedrooms are air-conditioned, we ask that when you use the AC’s in the bedrooms that you keep the doors closed. There are typically cool Caribbean breezes and most guests using this home use the AC’s only in the evenings. Can you arrange our tours? -We are happy to customize and pre-book a tour package specific to your interests. Upon your arrival at your beach getaway, we will review your activities itinerary and issue your tour vouchers. To avoid cancellation penalties – which is often the full price of the tour – you must cancel more than 24-hours to trip departure time. Is there an outdoor grill? -A charcoal grill is provided, we can provision your home with charcoal with notice and any related costs will be posted to your incidental account. Does the home have a telephone? -There is no landline telephone at Casa Amarillo. We do provide one complimentary local cellular phone with US$5.00 credit. Additional credit can be purchased online or at most corner stores. Is there highspeed WIFI? -Complimentary WIFI is included. Please note that WIFI service in Belize will not be as fast or reliable as you are accustomed to and may not be suitable for streaming entertainment. Can we swim off the beach? -The beaches of Belize have Seagrass or "Turtle Grass" growing, this is harmless and in fact is an important part of Belize’s ecosystem. This grass can grow in our shallow waters as we have such strong protection from the World's second largest barrier reef. This means our waters are warm, calm, and shallow for quite a way out and we do not for the most part of traditional walk-in beaches. For guests wishing to swim in the Caribbean, our dock has stairs leading into the water, diving is not permitted. Please note: periodically, Belize, along with other areas of Central America, The Caribbean, Mexico, and USA, will experience periods of Sargassum Seaweed washing ashore. Sargassum Seaweed comes from the Sargasso Sea in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean and is normally kept at bay by water temperatures and currents. We work diligently to keep our beach clear; however, guests should be aware when visiting coastal areas that seaweed may be present. Is there a pool onsite? -We have a small pool where you can cool down while enjoying the Caribbean views and breezes. Do you provide pool towels? -We provide one pool towel per person. Can we drink the water? -We start you off with 5-Gallons of purified drinking water in a dispenser. Additional 5-gallons can be provided upon request. Is there a duty-free shop on the island? -There is no duty-free shopping available on island. When you arrive in Belize, there is a duty-free shop at baggage claim where you can stock up on liquor and other items if you’d like. You will need to place all liquids in your checked luggage if you will be taking an air shuttle to the island. You may be able to arrange a regional flight attendant to walk it around for you for a tip. How can we get groceries? -We can provide recommendations for provisioning services in advance of your arrival, or you can grocery shop once you are on island. Are there restaurants, bars or grocery stores nearby? -STAX Coffee bar/restaurant, open seasonally during the day, is located a short walk from our house. The nearest small grocery store is located approximately 1.5 miles north of our location.
