Superb location - great walks from the door. Pubs and local store very close by. Property well maintained looked exactly as in the photos - layout worked well for us. Host very responsive - check in and out simple.

A gem of a place. Compact, well appointed, with separate entrance to arrive with mucky dogs and kit. Topped off with a lovely kitchen, log fire, dedicated parking and WiFi to check the weather ready for the next days adventures. And all in a lovely village with a great pub and local shop. So lovely we didn’t need the car everyday

We loved our stay in The Old Post Office. The property is in a great location, with local pubs and beautiful walks on the doorstep. The cottage had everything we needed and is well suited to dogs with a small courtyard and places for muddy boots. The only thing that could be improved are the check in/out times (5pm and 9am), they seemed a little extreme but wouldn’t put us off in the future. Overall a brilliant weeks in the Lakes, thank you!

The Old Post Office is perfectly situated for a great walking holiday in the Lake District. It is close to some of the best walking challenges (and low level walks) in the area. It is also opposite a useful little shop and an easy walk to a couple of pubs, The Brittania being our favourite. The Brit has great food and atmosphere and although it always seems to be packed after a few minutes wait, with a pint under the maple tree, a table frees up! The accommodation suited our needs well but having said that for most of the week it was just my husband and I. If you were a party of 6 adults it would have been cosy! The sitting room is tiny and the third bedroom has two tightly packed single beds and a tiny chest of drawers and no wardrobe. The bed we slept in was very comfortable and the bathroom facilities excellent. Plenty of parking space but a very small and not partcularly appealing courtyard area outside.

Our stay was really great! We found the place sparkling clean and with everything we needed. There were several books and magazines about walks in the area which were really nice. The house is lovely and it's in a really great location. There are a lot of super nice walks around, and from there it's easy to get to any other area in the Lake District in less than one hour. I also particularly appreciated that even though I made a mistake with the booking, I was treated with extreme kindness and was given the opportunity to take my time and rectify the mistake.
