Nestled in the picturesque Devon countryside, with a relaxing hot tub, Pentire is a great base for families or groups of friends. The graceful spire of Holbeton church greets you first as you enter this tranquil Devon valley - along with a sign to let you know that you are now in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Then, almost immediately, you get your first glimpse of your stunningly beautiful property as you drive through the exquisite craftsman made metal gates. This unusual and much loved home is the perfect retreat. You will almost certainly take breakfast in the sun room as you plan your day, and, what could be a nicer start, than by feeding the koi carp in their 28 foot long, hand tiled water feature whilst sipping your first cuppa! The fully equipped kitchen opens onto the calm and inviting dining area that features a marble top table large enough to seat eight people comfortably. As you explore the house, you will first be delighted at the original art on the walls. Be prepared to have your breath taken away by the fabulous, handmade, wrought iron staircase and you’ll know that you are somewhere very special. The downstairs open plan living area is light and comfortable and perfect for relaxing, entertaining, and enjoying the spectacular views. Should the weather keep you indoors simply put the fire on and settle back with Netflix, for a truly cosy evening. The totally private landscaped gardens are yours to enjoy, as are an extra two acres of pasture which are perfect for dog walking. You can spend your afternoons chilling on the sunny, south facing deck watching out for occasional deer and hawks across this peaceful Devon valley. Alternatively, take a two mile walk to the coast through secluded woodland to laze on sandy Mothecombe beach. The owner lives Next door and is on hand for help and local knowledge. You may choose to spend your evenings in any one of the excellent local restaurants, or venture into the City of Plymouth which is less than half an hour drive away. Fancy something more local? Simply stroll down to the village pub. Whatever you decide, you’ll certainly want to round off the evening with a soak under the stars in your private Jacuzzi with its magically lit amphitheatre. Your stay here at Pentire will rejuvenate and delight you and, when you leave you will probably be planning your next visit before you even drive out of the gates! This was a great house - very spacious, exceptionally clean and really well laid-out with lots of areas to sit, chill, eat (in and out). Fantastic views over hills and farmland and totally private which was really important for us. It was well thought out with everything you could need and Peter gets the award for the best host....really friendly and nothing was too much trouble - a real diamond of a human being! There was nothing not to like about the place and location - it was perfect for the 6 of us with plenty of space and the pub is brilliant - with folk nights, quiz nights, open-mic nights and good food...plus, it was about 2 minutes walk and beach is just down the road (easily walkable). Unlike other airbnb's that show you nice photos but not really much of their surroundings....this was spot-on with lots of space around the propery and very private. Thanks again Peter - it was great!!!

Wow - this house (home) really is as beautiful as it looks!! It is light, airy, spacious and homely all in one. The layout of the house works wonderfully, from the front door in to the open living space, large kitchen looking straight on to the dining area which leads straight in to the amazing conservatory area looking right out on to the garden and rolling countryside. The bedrooms are all a really good size both downstairs (double) and upstairs (1 double and a twin room) and the 2 double rooms come with en-suite. The small touches likes the bathrobes are lovely, the softest towels and bed linen are provided. The large kitchen is still very homely and provides everything that you need from a large electric oven, large fridge freezer, all the cutlery you could wish for. There is also a big utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer, large sink which leads to a downstairs toilet. Outside there is a beaufiful table and chairs area for outdoor dining, accompanieed by the large gas barbeque. The pond has some amazing large fish in which are lovely to see and hear them splashing around. We took 2 small dogs with us and the pond wasn't an issue for them at all. The grounds are completely secure for dogs also bt there is a lovely field next door that you can take them for a run over which gives beautiful views of Holbeton village below. The views from all of the windows in this house are just stunning. The hottub really is a good as it looks and again the position of it allows for amazing views of the field opposite. On a clear night, the amoun of stars to be seen is out of this world (literally) and you can see the milky way right above the house!! In the village there is a small shop, post office and a pub and some lovely walks nearby. Peter told us about a walk from Stoke Beach to Noss Mayo (about a 4 mile drive from Holbeton), due to the lack of sign-posts it can be hard to find but there is no charge for parking by Revelstoke Caravan Park. Becuase of the lack of signs it does mean that this stunning walk is fairly quiet. You walk around the coastal path whoch is really wide and far enough away from the edge to feel safe and on a sunny day you wouldn't believe you were in England. The walk is around 6-7 mile but is an easy, mostly flat walk and you can stop anywhere and have a picnic or just take in the views. I really could take all day about this lovely property, by far the best I've ever stayed in and I really didn't want to come home.
