This airbnb was a highlight of our trip. Came here to hike devil’s staircase to the waterfall. The view through the valley and all the way out to Udawalawe national park is stunning. And the staff there were so attentive always offering tea and offering to pack a breakfast when we were going on a hike early in the AM which was really helpful. The room was simple and clean and cool at night due to being in the mountains. Cool enough i wore a sweater outside. Food was delicious, sri lankan dinner was one of our best on the trip. They also provided insider knowledge on local hikes which was great when we had an extra morning and wanted to get one more hike in. Note that it is not easy to get to! Recommend either hiring an SUV or being dropped at the train station and going the rest of the way by tuk tuk which can handle the uneven road and steep decline much better. Overall highly recommend

We had an amazing time in the cloud forest! The perfect place to visit Horton plains national park from; and some lovely walks right from the house too. We were fed extremely well and the food was delicious, and all included. Thanks to everyone who looked after us so well.

I really enjoyed my stay in the Hill Safari - it is a great place to explore walking that is quieter and much less touristic than Ella. Eomal's tips for walking led to two of my favourite walks of the holiday - one from Bambarakande to the hotel, and the other to Horton Plains. It is great that breakfast and dinner are included because there are not any other options around! The staff were very friendly and helped me with doing some washing, taking a pack lunch for my walk to Horton Plains, and with a leech bite I got on a walk. Thank you, and happy new year!

Amazing place, and wonderful hospitality. Be aware though that the last portion of the trek is difficult to do if you’re driving your own vehicle. Just take the tuk tuk like we did from the patiya hotel. Absolutely wonderful group of people running the place loved every bit of it.

Loved the property, set in the middle of mountains and greenery. Cool air, beautiful lodge, clean rooms, friendly staff, gorgeous sunset views. Enjoyed hikes around the area, and lots of birds as well.
