We had the pleasure of spending the month of April at the Red Cottage--just as everything was starting to bloom. The host, Monica, was in touch with us prior to and during our stay and responded quickly to any and all questions. A few of our favorite things about the Red Cottage and Black Mountain: very clean and comfortable home; the location between downtown Black Mountain and Montreat allowed for walking to either; close to great hiking and restaurants--many of which have live music several nights a week; easy access to Asheville; and wonderful front porch on which to relax at the beginning or end of the day (also loved by our dog!) We have stayed in many airbnbs and feel that the Red Cottage was one of the most comfortable and well-equipped. Our only suggestion is to consider adding a few chairs in the back yard to take advantage of the late afternoon sun!

We loved out stay at the Red Cottage. It is a delightful, clean, well-stocked home in a great location. Monica & John are thoughtful, caring hosts, proactive communicators and genuinely concerned with the quality of our stay. They have a great location in Black Mountain close to Montreat--downtown Blk Mtn nearby with great shops and restaurants, close to neighborhood walks and trails along the creek. A short drive will put you on some more rigorous trails up the hill in Montreat or off of the Blue Ridge Parkway. The house itself is a gem--pretty to look at, easy access off-street parking, comfortable beds and furnishings, all the conveniences you'd want, and in a quiet neighborhood. The place is made more welcoming by the hosts packing it with all the linens, towels, glassware, utensils and incidental supplies you'd need. The place was spotless and sparkling when we walked in. We discovered some nice welcoming goodies on the kitchen table left to welcome us on our arrival.

Monica was a wonderfully accommodating host! After having to cancel another place due to its misrepresentation, The Red Cottage was a welcome relief! Very clean, well stocked, extremely comfortable and close to the sweet little downtown area full of shops & great restaurants. We had a great stay and will definitely seek it out again when back in the area! Thanks, Monica!

I stayed at The Cottage with my children (2 & 10). Check-in was simple. The cottage was easy to find with ample parking. The cottage is adorable & peaceful. It has beautiful hardwood floors & everything I needed to feel right at home. Monica was extremely helpful & proactive. She checked in via text frequently to make sure we had what we needed. What I love most is how well stocked the cottage is for a rental. It had ample towels & linens. The kitchen had everything we needed, including so much more. Often hosts cut corners on silverware, plates, cups and cooking appliances. The Cottage has everything I needed to cook like at home. The Cottage is peaceful & quiet. I loved our time there. Black Mountain is a cool town with lots of local art galleries & great food. I am grateful Monica allowed us to stay at her cottage. It was perfect!
