We enjoyed our stay very much. The landscaping and scenery were beautiful. Jeff and Nando were friendly and so helpful with great suggestions for activities and restaurants. We used the pool daily and sometimes at night. It was so refreshing after the heat of the day. The 3 building concept was unique and very liveable.

After a steep ride up a dirt road with a 4x4 (a bit daunting at first for those not used to 4x4 like us, but you get used to it-all part of the adventure!), you arrive to a peaceful oasis. From the black bamboo, the different species of plants and flowers that encourage hummingbirds and butterflies, and the view from any of the cabins or the pool, is stunning. The bed is very comfortable, the kitchen was equipped to cook and we took advantage of the infinity pool daily. The best part about this Airbnb is the host Jeff and his partner Nando. We were involved in a traumatic car accident on the main highway, Jeff has been outstanding to say the least. He not only ensured our mental health was ok but helped us contact a lawyer and ensured we had a place to stay for free after we left his place. His compassion has been instrumental in alleviating our anxiety. If you’re looking for a peaceful place to stay off the beaten path with a wonderful host, this place is for you!

Jeff is a wonderful host. He knows the area well and can provide recommendations. After a long initial day of travel to get to the destination, Jeff graciously got an initial set of groceries (and we later reimbursed) we requested so we would have something to eat upon arrival and the next morning. The location is in the mountains with a wonderful view of the valley. Jungle and mountain wildlife is all around and it is very peaceful. The site is shared with Jeff and Nando, however you rarely notice their presence. Amenities are well rounded. There is one queen bed in one of the rooms. The other room is now a loveseat sofa with a sofa bed (not ideal if traveling with 4 adults). The kitchen and washer are located in a separate building a short walk away and offer stove, sink, refrigerator, coffee pot, and plenty of utensils. If you are looking for a location off the beaten path but still close enough to the beach and other southern pacific Costa Rica attractions, this is the place.

We absolutely loved our stay at Suenos Mariposa. The pictures just don’t do this place justice. Absolutely stunning Mountain View that’s worth the drive up. Jeff was very friendly and accommodating, responded quickly to messages and made lots of helpful recommendations. I was going to leave a long review but seriously what are you waiting for, just book!!
