We loved our stay at Amy and Alden's lake house, from the tranquility reflected in the haunting calls of loons at night to our front-row seat on the dock for the spectacular Perseid meteor showers. We wanted to relax, and we did. We canoed and kayaked and saw an eagle on its nest as well as grebes and cormorants. The location is perfect for hiking up Borestone Mountain or part of the Appalachian Trail that goes through town, and it's a short drive to Moosehead Lake north. The Lakeshore House Pub in town is a great place to eat, and the downtown galleries are worth checking out. We spent much time on the screened porch. We hope to return next year.

We had a wonderful stay! The house was clean, comfy and had everything we needed for a family of four (two adults, kids ages 8 and 10). The lake was great for swimming and paddling; our kids had a blast jumping off the dock. Amy and Alden were great hosts and easy to communicate with. Monson is a lovely little town, and we were relatively close to grocery stores, restaurants and other amenities. Lots of great hiking nearby too. We plan to come back!

We had an amazing stay at this camp. It was a gorgeous setting, quiet and peaceful, and the interior was perfect for us. We loved the "cabin-y" touches like the old stove, and the decorations. We listened to loons and sat out on the big screened in porch every day. A perfect getaway spot on a great lake.

Wonderful, homey cabin with a wide shaded yard and quiet waterfront. Large accommodating kitchen, plenty of sitting area options, screened porch, fire pit. Monson is a great little town with plenty to explore but we were so happy hanging at this gem of a spot that we stayed put except for the market which is wonderful. Definitely a place to settle in and enjoy. The hosts offer a quality location.

Amy and Alden’s place is a slice of heaven. Our week was FANTASTIC, so relaxing! As a photographer the wildlife was plentiful; loons, eagles, mergansers…. Such a wonderful place!
