Saranac Lake is one of NY's most visited sites in the Adirondacks! Our place is conveniently located within a 15-20 minute walking distance to the village of Main street. Summertime activities include kayaking, boat rentals, SUP, around Lake Flower or those same activities plus swimming in Lake Colby. Bigger activities include camping in the Saranac Islands! Wintertime activities include skiing or snowboarding at Whiteface Mountain, about 30 minutes from the Foundry! **PLEASE READ IN ITS ENTIRETY TO UNDERSTAND OUR HOME BEFORE BOOKING SO YOU ARE AWARE OF THE CONDITIONS!!!*** The Foundry is our modern semi-industrial inspired 2BR 1 BATH home. You will have complete access to the home. You can check yourself in with the key located in the lock box. We will provide you with the code a few days before your trip. There are two total bedrooms - 1 QUEEN bed in each room. The living room is equipped with a 55" smart TV. The home offers one full bathroom and is also equipped with a full kitchen. The bathroom and kitchen both have in-floor heating adjustable by thermostat. Parking available right on site - Maximum number of cars = 2. If you require more than 2 cars, please message me to inquire about availability. Our home was built in the 1930s, while still maintaining its shape, my family and I have worked tirelessly to make it a home where we can come to unwind and enjoy the outdoors. While we offer our home as a rental to our guests, we do have a few things we'd like to disclose to you prior to booking: - The bathroom door does not currently have a lock. The door itself closes but it is currently not capable of locking. - We have child proofed most outlets in the home with the option given to our guests to have more plugs available if needed. There is a baby/child gate available in the bedroom closet. We also have an infant inflatable bath tub and also a versatile bath tub. Even with these provided amenities the staircase as shown in the picture can be fairly steep and may pose a safety concern for toddlers. - Our home is equipped with a combi boiler. This is a modern efficient boiler that is VERY quiet, 95% efficient, thus reducing our carbon footprint which we are very happy about. The drawback to this is when showering - in order to maintain a steady flow of hot water, no other appliance that uses water should be used at the same time. This includes the dishwasher, laundry machines, faucets, even using the toilet may disrupt the hot water flow. This is very important as we would hate to have our guests be surprised if the hot water suddenly runs cold. - The woodburning stove is NOT available for use. it is currently only being used as an aesthetic for the home. It cannot be used to generate heat. - Saranac Lake can be known for some extreme weather. During the winter - the bedrooms stay very warm and toasty but the living room and dining room can stay more chilly than upstairs due to insulation around windows and the woodburning stove thats there. We have a portable space heater for additional heat in the downstairs area. Portable so you may take this to any room you may need - even the bathroom and kitchen! We are very happy of our small cute getaway home but do know that certain guests have superior expectations. If you can accept these minimal flaws, then we are happy to host you and have you enjoy the comfort of our home. Our home is a continued work in progress and we are excited to continue adding to it to make it fun and relaxing for all of our guests. We ask our renters to have the utmost respect for our neighbors. The area is lovely and this home makes a perfect basecamp for those who are willing to explore the area's surrounding Saranac Lake which has so much to offer! Other things to note We have a surveillance camera installed for the exterior of the house. One for the side door and one for the front door. Saranac Lake is usually cool even during summer time with an average low of 40 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit, especially at night. Leaving the windows open has given ample breeze even during summer time.
