This is a homy space with great access to a lot of the great wonders of Pine Plains, NY and overall we enjoyed our stay here. Kenneth, the property manager, was very kind, responsive, and helpful. I just wanted to offer a quick PSA to anyone looking to book a stay here: It is very dusty and musty and with no AC and only one small window between the two bedrooms. There was an intense smell of mouse urine from the moment we walked in the apartment that turned out was coming from a mouse nest left in the couch. Mice happen, and the problem was dealt with. But if you are someone with allergies or sensitive nostrils this may not be the pace for you.

The lake is great. Hope that you have nice renters in the main house because it’s a little awkward sharing what feels like the main house’s dock with them. The house could have been cleaner, but the sheets and towels were freshly laundered. There is only a sheer curtain on the window in the bedroom with the queen bed and someone lives on the other side of the building. The bedroom with two beds does not have a window. My kids didn’t love it. It’s an ok space. Kind of cute, but somewhat unfinished feeling.

This is a quaint country cottage in a beautiful part of Hudson Valley if you are planning to completely disconnect. We had difficulty getting WiFi connectivity, and ended up not being able to work remotely as planned. We also couldn’t access the lake to swim from the property’s dock because it was a bit grown in. The kitchen wasn’t clean, but the bedrooms and bathrooms were. We enjoyed our stay, but were somewhat disappointed in the amenities we expected to have.

Very disappointing experience. We found a cabinet full of mouse droppings and old chocolates they had been feeding on, also found droppings inside the cookware. We had to rewash all the dishes (there’s no dishwasher) before preparing any food and the next morning there was new droppings on the stovetop, table next to the stove and in one of the bathrooms. We immediately realized this wasn’t an isolated incident and decided to leave. Not a relaxing get-away when you spend it cleaning and still feel grossed out. When we contacted Antionette she agreed to refund the rest of our stay, however then insisted on charging the cleaning fee. She made the whole process much more difficult than it needed to be and we had to file a claim with Airbnb directly. The location is very nice, lake looked beautiful and we were looking to enjoying the fire pit and nearby trails. Cookware needs to be updated and wifi was slow, the TV kept dropping connection. “Rustic” is one thing but didn’t want to be staying in the house with the wildlife.

Great little place and the host is very polite, prompt and hospitable. There is a nice lake to go fishing and kayaking and the surrounding area is beautiful especially in the fall. Great sculpture parks in a one hour driving radius area. It's great to sit around the fire at night with friends.
