A unique, converted folly for up to 3 people, with its own private historic garden, set in woodland. A perfect escape. Small cottage has open plan living area with sofa, TV, DVD player and fold-up dining table and chairs. The fully equipped kitchen is set around a spiral staircase. Upstairs has bedroom, with double and single bed, wardrobe and full-length mirror, and en suite bathroom with shower above bath. Full length front windows with views of garden, with seating and terrace. Dogs welcome. A 19th century red sandstone folly with original leaded windows which backs onto woodland. Converted in the 1990s. Wrought iron spiral staircase. Private, walled garden with a choice of seating areas. Parking for 2 cars about 50 metres from front door. Ground is flat between car and cottage, with one step up to front door.
We enjoyed it so much the first time that we came back. What an idyllic setting, so peaceful. Great walks locally and enjoyed our meal at The Hostelrie. We will be back.

Lots to do in the area - lovely drives down the Wye valley to Tintern Abbey and Forest of Dean.
Great location for canoeists - canoe launch and parking is 1 mile away.
In the Wye valley - Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Near a pretty village not far from Ross-on-Wye.

1 mile from Bishopswood canoe launch with car park, and canoe/kayak hire.
2 country pubs serving meals within 10 and 15 mins walking distance.

3 miles from Symonds Yat East for riverside pub and ice creams and where canoes, kayaks and rowing boats can be hired. This is also where the riverside cycle path to Monmouth begins.
4 miles from Ross-on-Wye which has swimming pool and leisure centre.
5 miles from the Forest of Dean with forest trails for mountain bikes (including hire) and forest walking.
1 hrs drive from Malvern Hills, Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains - perfect walking country.
15 mins walk from village bus stop - buses every 2 hrs to Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth.
Nearest train station is Hereford or Gloucester- then take a bus to Ross-on-Wye, then a bus to Goodrich. Fifteen minute walk from bus stop.
