Wallatta house is a beautiful house, that feels extremely grand - which you won’t quite realise until you’re there. The outside area is spectacular! - a great place to eat meals, drink and chill. The property is very private and has lots of beautiful trees surrounding the property, the pool is absolutely stunning. Every thought has gone into the architecture of the building - from the open skylight features in the shower section, which has beautiful trees coming out this. You can reach the beach easily from Wallatta House, there is great little beach restaurant 200m away, a great place to have a cocktail and swim in the sea. The team at Walatta house are very friendly and helpful. Thank you to Jack the host, Madura who is the house manager & chef, who has worked at some of the best restaurants globally, the food is amazing! Thank you also to Suranga! Staying at Walatta beats any hotel, it’s a very a relaxing place to stay & explore the south of Sri Lanka. Thanks again all

Wow!!! Walatta House is absolutely incredible- stunning architecture and interior, a beautiful setting overlooking the sea, gorgeous swimming pool, very private with an untouched wild and natural Robinson Crusoe beach to meander down to .. It’s entrance seems unassuming as you go underground to reveal the interiors amazing vista - honestly it is a dreamy space - loved the inside- outside bathrooms … Naveen is an amazing chef and has created some wonderful menus with such attention to detail it really is five star dining, Suraga is there with a friendly smile to make your holiday truly relaxing, Bihash too.. yet always in a discreet way. This place exceeded all expectations and photos just don’t do it justice .. Thank You so much for an unforgettable experience for the last part of our Sri Lankan adventure - It was Brilliant !!!! Katharine and Paul and our 2 teenagers !

My wife and I recently spent two weeks at Walatta House and suffice to say we loved every single moment of our stay! Upon arrival Madhura, Suraa, Chamikara and Wally (the house dog) are there to greet your with a warm welcome and from that point on are there to offer a first class service to make your stay as memorable as possible. Meals, snacks, drinks, day trips, taxi hire, recommendations for the local area, they are on hand to help you with everything you could ever need. Speaking of the food; Madhura is an unbelievable chef and his food was sensational. The menu on offer is substantial. Sri Lankan, Italian, Indian and Japanese cuisine. And if something isn't on the menu you only have to ask. The house itself fits seemlessly into the local environment. It's not too much to say that the architecture of the property is simply stunning and helps to amplify the natural beauty surrounding it. We only used one of the bedrooms, but it was spacious, clean, had airconditioning and a fantastic mosquito net hanging over the bed to keep any potential bugs out at night. Outside the bedrooms, was a spacious living area in front of the most amazing 20m pool. Suffice to say we spent alot of time hanging out by the pool overlooking the fantastic views that the grounds had to offer. And speaking of the grounds, not only are they are immaculately managed but it is a short 2 minute walk down (can be a little steep, if you have mobility issues) to the beautiful secluded beach. Finally it would be remiss of me to ignore the extremely sad current economic crisis going on in Sri Lanka and not talk about how it affected our experience as tourists. In all honesty it didn't, at all. We originally spoke with Jack (manager of the property) before flying to Sri Lanka to get an understanding of the current situation. He was extremely helpful, explaining the situation and putting our minds at rest. Once we arrived at Walatta none of the ongoing issues affected us. The house has it's own generator so that it has power when the rolling power cuts were ongoing. We went on day trips to local sites and evening trips to restaurants and bars and there simply weren't any issues for tourists. All in all, I couldn't recommend Walatta House more. A final massive thank you to all the Walatta team who put so much work into making our time so memorable.

We had an overall enjoyable stay at the villa. We loved the pool and beach access and want to give a special shoutout to the amazing service and food provided to us by Madhura. He really made our stay very memorable. However, I do want to point out a few things - 1. The villa was very hard to find. I would recommend reaching the villa during daylight. 2. The rooms were not clean to the standards we would like. There was a lot of dust and cobwebs in certain corners, which the staff removed after we pointed it out. 3. The bugs, especially the mosquitoes were a real problem. The mosquito nets didn't help, at-least the first night as they were left open before we came in. I would recommend the staff prepare the rooms with the nets closed and spray repellents before guests come in + make mosquito sprays accessible to guests. For the guests, I would recommend keep your doors closed as much as possible as you are surrounded by a lot of greenery and bugs are inevitable.
