You’ve found a great experience, but wonder just how strenuous will it be? The good news is that many Hosts of Airbnb Experiences that include outdoor activities share specific intensity and skill levels for guests. They’re to help you gauge the intensity of an experience based on the activities taking place.

Every experience is different, so you should read the description carefully to make sure it’s a good fit. Got questions? Message the Host for additional details.

Intensity level definitions to serve as guides for Hosts were created in partnership with the Adventure Travel Trade Association.

Light: This is limited to low-intensity activities like standing or moving throughout the trip.

Moderate: This requires guests to participate in semi-vigorous activities for extended periods of time.

Strenuous: This includes high-intensity activities that may last the entire day.

Extreme: This is physically challenging—prior experience or related training is recommended for guests.
