We had a great experience. The boat was well located, within easy walking distance of downtown Sanford. Parking was free and close by. The boat was clean and comfortable, and was as represented.

It was such a pleasure staying on Rebecca & Michael’s house boat… we called it a yacht. They were wonderful hosts. I like to experience unique property’s and this definitely filled that bill. The top deck was our favorite. You could lounge in the sun or be under shade. There was plenty of comfy seating. We enjoyed cooking on the grill, watching TV, great conversations and an amazing views. Staying in one spot and being able to see the sunrise and set was absolutely wonderful. Michael shared the Space Launch Schedule App but unfortunately the launches kept getting delayed. You can see them from the property. We walked into the town of Sanford one day which was really nice. Other than that we were very happy just chilling and enjoying the views and our space during our entire visit. There is a local coffee shop that I highly recommend. Enjoying coffee on the bow in the mornings and dinner on the top deck. Doesn’t get much better than that. Thank you for a wonderful stay. :-)

Michael & Rebecca were most accommodating when we had to change our arrival time. They were friendly and made us feel most welcome. I was speaking to Michael about space launches as we were close to Cape Canaveral, and he texted a link to be about space launches around the world. In reading the app and notice a posting for a launch the next day at the Cape. This led to us taking a drive up to the Cape and witnessed a launch! The houseboat "Why Knot" is an older boat, you can see that in the older woodwork on the boat. However, the furnishings were just what we expected from a houseboat - comfortable and homey. Beds were comfortable, bathrooms well appointed, shower was large. The kitchen had everything you needed if you wanted to cook in. The marina was quiet and peaceful. I loved the gentle rock of the boat - I slept very well. The city of Sanford was charming and had a walkable downtown, plenty of restaurants and shops. Thank you for a wonderful stay. This is a unique experience that we thoroughly enjoyed. Do not worry about some of the intricacies of living on houseboat … we were first timers and it is all very easy to figure out once you see it and Michael was very good at explaining anything we weren’t absolutely sure about. We felt safe as well, in part because the houseboat’s marina is actually a gated Community with a few easy going residents that live there year round. Great houseboat experience aside, we were surprised about all that Sanford had to offer within easy walking distance (all flat level walking). During our stay an unexpected bonus was a cape canaveral night rocket launch that was visible from the spacious and comfortable top deck of the houseboat. I highly recommend the host, the houseboat and Sanford.
