A cosy cottage overlooking a ford, adjacent to stunning Rutter Force waterfall, in the tranquil Eden valley, between Lake District and the Dales. Wild swimming available on site. Sleeps two couples in king size bed in bedroom plus double sofa bed in lounge. Fully equipped, with free Wi-Fi. No children under twelve allowed for safety reasons. See separate listing for Ford Cottage plus Owl Room to add upstairs annex for additional couple. Ford Cottage is a quaint and comfortable little cottage in an absolutely beautiful location. Beside a pretty river and adjacent to an amazing waterfall, it's a great place to relax, unwind and enjoy nature. We have red squirrels, otters and wonderful birdlife, including herons and kingfishers. You won't want to leave!

Such a beautiful area, so peaceful. Loved the cottage, looking right onto the river. Thank you so much for the extras the bread & jam was delicious. Had everything you needed in the kitchen even cooking oil !!!
It was a beautiful accommodation, in an idyllic surroundings and wonderful hosts. Honestly I can’t recommend this place enough. Jane and Jim were lovely and welcoming. The accommodation was very spacious and we felt right at home. We can’t wait to go back.

Ford Cottage is located in a glorious little natural oasis with abundant wildlife. Many guests don't venture far from the cottage, as it's so idyllic right there by the water. There is lots of good walking locally, plenty of nice pubs serving good food, and the Lake District is a half hour drive away. Appleby is a lovely old market town, with charming shops and cafes. The area boasts many pretty villages and tourist attractions.
Public transport is poor locally, so a car is necessary when staying at Rutter Falls. There is a good train service from Appleby to other towns in the North.

Having moved back to the UK from Atlanta, GA, USA ten years ago, Rutter Falls Holiday Cottages are our new project in the UK, and we look forward to spending more time here. It is a truly beautiful location which we enjoy sharing with our cottage guests.
