A trip back in time for you and yours to create precious memories best describes Folly By The Sea. Avon is conveniently located on mid-Hatteras Island near dining, shops, and a Food Lion full grocery store. This cozy, well-appointed, 3-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom home is located on the oceanfront, so your crew will have direct access through the dunes to endless beaches. Folly is pet-friendly, so you don't have to leave anyone behind. ENJOY! "Folly by the Sea" is a time capsule located between two multimillion dollar homes which enhances its quaint Hatteras Island appeal. Larissa and I ascribe to the nuestra casa es tu casa our home is your home vibe. Folly has definite curbside appeal with her long driveway and abundance of room to park. There is a semi-enclosed outside beach shower with dressing room to refresh after having fun at the beach. You’ll also find your private sandy path through the dunes to the beach. A 15-20 minute beach walk south takes you to the Avon Pier. Expect Folly to provide for fun outdoor activities such as bike riding (four bikes), a custom made Hole Toss board, Horse Shoes, Badminton, kite flying, and if you have a tent for the kids, a backyard to pitch it. Yes, we have a free standing old fashion charcoal grill - in case you’re wondering, and a terrific 8 person hot tub. We also hold membership for our guests in Kinnakeet Shores Pool and Tennis Club. Walking, and just doing nothing at the beach, watching the sunset or the sunrise with morning coffee, drinks on the deck listening to the ocean, its all here - your pups will love it also! :-). Don’t forget to bring a football or soccer ball (we used to provide them, but they tend to ‘disappear’). "Folly" has a charm that we cherish and try to preserve. Its timeless style is very dear to our hearts, and much appreciated by our guests as are the upgrades you will experience… We invite you to read, and leave your comments, in our “Guest Book”. After long day of fun you will be able to relax in comfortable beds (towels and linens are provided). There are 3 bedrooms on the main floor: master - with the king-sized bed, guest - with queen bed, and a “kids” room with two pyramid bunk-beds. The master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom and two other bedrooms share one bathroom that is on the same floor. Each bedroom has a 40" 4K Smart TV with multiple streaming services you will enjoy. The living area, kitchen, and the dining as well as half bathroom are on the 2nd floor. You'll find thoughtful amenities abound on the 2nd floor. The living area is the perfect place to relax with family and friends. Watch your favorite streaming TV show or movie on the 55” Smart TV or engage in a little friendly competition with a game of foosball. The living area also gives you ocean views, through the dunes. Step outside on the sun deck and watch the sunrise with your morning cup of coffee or simply just enjoy the Hatteras Island salt air. The dining room table is spacious and seats 8 and the additional breakfast bar provides extra space for 3 so everyone can enjoy time together over a home-cooked meal. Let's talk about the kitchen. You'll find everything you need to prepare meals during your stay. Our kitchen is stocked up with many gadgets that a chef would desire for meals preparation (Food processor, Vita Mix blender, pancake press, Ninja Juicer, two toasters, Keurug coffee maker, Espresso coffee machine and a regular drip coffee makers, Popcorn popper, & Rice maker pot). Please note that CHECK IN and CHECK OUT are on SATURDAYS due to our housekeeping arrangements. All necessary information is provided in our Rental Agreement (see below), which we kindly ask you to sign and either email it back (the email address is on our website follybythesea. com or text it after your reservation is confirmed (the number will be provided as well. Regarding Pet Fees, FIRST PET CHARGE FEE IS $150.00. EACH PET THEREAFTER REQUIRES AN ADDITIONAL FEE OF $50.00 PER PET. FOLLY BY THE SEA SHORT-TERM VACATION RENTAL AGREEMENT THIS IS A LEGALLY BINDING EIGHT PAGE SHORT-TERM VACATION RENTAL AGREEMENT UNDER THE NORTH CAROLINA VACATION RENTAL ACT (NCGS 42A ET AL). IF NOT UNDERSTOOD, SEEK LEGAL ADVICE. The rights and obligations of the parties to this Agreement are defined by law and include provisions permitting the disbursement of rent prior to tenancy and, for cause, the expedited eviction of guests. Guest signatures on this Agreement, payment of money, or taking possession of the property after receipt of this Agreement is evidence of Guest acceptance of the Agreement and Guest's intent to use this property for a vacation rental. Guest agrees to pay a $135.00 processing fee for any check of Guest that may be returned by the financial institution due to insufficient funds or because Guest did not have an account at the financial institution on which the check was drawn. This Short - Term Vacation Rental Agreement (“Agreement”) is made by and between Mickey and Larissa O’Malley (“Owners”) and (Print)__________________ (“Guest”), on the ____ day of _________, year ___________. _____________________________ Avon, NC (herein referred to as "Property") is owned by the Owners and fully equipped for housekeeping. Amenities included in and on the Property include, but are not limited to the following: Outside hot/cold shower with changing room with mirror, oven stove with air fryer, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator (all appliances are new this year), waffle maker, popcorn maker, VitaMIx blender, food processor, (two) four piece toasters, (three) coffee makers: Keurig, Espresso machine, and a regular drip coffee maker, rice maker, washer, dryer, iron, phone, cable, wi-fi, Bosch sound system, ceiling fans in every room, hot tub, towels and linens, and hair dryers - one per bathroom, foosball table, bicycles (4), outside hose for rinsing/washing cars, horseshoes, badminton set, corn hole toss, backyard spotlights, beach chairs (4), hammocks (2), and board games. KITCHEN RULES: Please do not pour grease into the sink (we do not have a garbage disposal). Also, if you intend to hand wash dishes, kindly remove food from the plates. Please do not slide pots and pans on the stove as it can damage it. There are cleaning supplies under the sink for your convenience. Thank you so much for understanding! :-) KITCHEN COMPLEMENTARY: There are complementary Keurig coffee pods to start your morning right and many spices to choose from for your favorite cooking. HOT TUB DISCLAIMER: Guest acknowledges that there are certain risks associated with hot tubs. Use of the eight - person hot tub is at Guest’s own risk, and Owners will not be responsible for any injuries. 1). Rental Party. All persons in the rental party will be bound by the terms of this Agreement. Guest assumes responsibility for all persons during the afore stated rental dates. Owners are not responsible for any accidents, injuries of illness that occurs on the premises. The Owners are not responsible of the loss of personal property of the Guest. 2). Guest agrees to indemnify and hold Owners harmless from any claim or litigation which might arise out of or in connection with Guest’s use and occupancy of the rental Property. 3). Pet Fees are fixed at $150.00 for the first and $50.00 for each additional pet. In the “oops” event, damage occurs by a pet or pets, the cost of repair/replacement will come from Guest’s security deposit. 4). Access. Guest shall allow the Owners property manager, John Parker, access to the Property exterior for the purpose of Hot tub and grass cutting service, and any repair or inspection that might be necessary. Guest agrees to contact John or the Owner if any service (or repair) is necessary. Guest will be contacted regarding John’s estimated time of arrival to the Property by house phone or cell phone. Protecting Guest privacy is very important to Owner. 5). Housekeeping. There is no daily housekeeping. Fresh linens will be put on beds and are included in your housekeeping fee as are towels. No beach towels are provided. Please do not take bathroom towels to the beach. 6). Air Conditioning is pre-set and controlled by Owners via an Ecobee control. 7). The new upgraded septic system is very effective. PLEASE DO NOT FLUSH ANYTHING OTHER THAN TOILET PAPER (no feminine products or any other objects should be flushed at any time). Damages can occur. Guest will be responsible should repair costs be necessary. 8). Checking In - Saturday after 3:00pm (due to our housekeeping arrangements): Your combination code for Owners’ front door lock will be provided prior to your arrival time of 3:00 pm. Check Out - Saturday before 10:00am. 9). Cancellation. See our “Cancellation Policy” through AirBnB: Full refund for cancellations up to 30 days before check-in. If booked fewer than 30 days before check-in, full refund for cancellations made within 48 hours of booking and at least 14 days before check-in. After that, 50% refund up to 7 days before check-in. No refund after that. 10). Mandatory Evacuation. If State or local authorities order a mandatory evacuation of an area that includes the Premises, Guest shall comply with the order. Upon compliance, Guest will be entitled to a refund of the prorated rent for each night that Guest is unable to occupy the Premises because of the order. Please clean the dishes and put them away in the cabinets where you found them and clean up any mess. We understand that accidents happen, so if you accidentally break something or spill on a sofa etc., just let us know so we can replace it, or get it fixed or cleaned before our next guest arrives. One of our discounts to all our guests is that you only pay a portion of the cleaning fee (the rest of the cleaning fee is on us :-), which covers laundry/changing sheets/towels and basic cleaning. Folly by the sea is a GEM, hosted by Larissa who is also a GEM. The house is EXTREMELY cozy and has plenty of spots to lounge with two wrap-around balconies that overlook the beach, as well as a spacious kitchen that has absolutely everything you need! From food processors to crab boil pots and TWO grills! Not only is the house great, but it’s in a great location! It is right on the beach, and there are great restaurants that are less than a 5 minute walk from the house! Both Froggy dog and Ketch 55 were great! There is a food lion and ace hardware with everything you need about 4 minutes drive from the house! In addition, plenty of activities nearby too! The Avon fishing pier is within walking distance from the house, and Frank and Fran’s awesome bait shop is right across the street! There are also some rentals for kayaks/surfboards within 5 mins driving, we drove 5 minutes to windsurf at the famous Oceanair sports! Lastly, there are 4x4 beach access points just down the road!

Cozy beach house just what we were looking for. If you want to be a few steps from the beach this is the place to be. Also full equipped kitchen with everything you need to make any wonderful meals. The town of Avon is a quiet town not a whole lot of activities but we didn’t mind going to Nags Head (45mins away) to do some things. We spent most of our time on the beach.

Our island neighborhood is one of the nicest you will find. It is family-oriented. It is well maintained by owners and guests. We have a gas station across the street and a Food Lion supermarket (chain store) just a few miles South. It is safe and quiet.
