Stanford is a Victorian village situated between Hermanus and Gansbaai. It's small, so everywhere is within walking distance. There is a dedicated 'Wandelpad' along the river and paddlers and canoeists enjoy the wide, tranquil river. Bird watching is very special, with river, farmland and coastal species found. The Village has a few superb restaurants, and there are excellent wine estates close by. Interesting antique stores attracts buyers from the cities. There are Mountain bike trails and hiking paths on the surrounding farms.
The oldest existing antique store is Robert Stanford Antiques, located at no.14 Church Street. The building itself is one of the oldest known buildings in Stanford.
Birkenhead Brewery is located on the Main Road. Enjoy craft beers and light lunches.
The Stanford market is held on the last Friday of every month from 6pm-8pm
Enjoy an informative river cruise on a barge down the Klein River.
Visit Klein River Cheese farm or one of the many surrounding wine farms such as Raka, Stanford Hills or Cold Mountain Vineyard.

Transfers can be arranged from Cape Town, but it is preferable to have the flexibility of your own car to explore the surrounding area, country restaurants and wine estates. Stanford is 1h45 minutes away from the international airport in Cape Town. Secure parking is provided on the property.
