Peaceful countryside location yet within a short drive of historic Winchester with it's cathedral, independent shops and numerous restaurants, many military museums, King Alfred's statue, riverside walks( may spot an otter) and the Flour Mill. Portsmouth Historic Dockyard ( Mary Rose and Victory reside here),is a great day out, also easy access to the ferry terminal at Portsmouth. Gun Wharf is a popular designer outlet centre .
Southampton is within easy reach, Titanic Museum, Old city walls and ferries to the Isle of Wight,for those wanting a day trip.Southampton Airport is also very easy to reach from the Cottage. Plentiful good pubs and restaurants in the locality and walks and the market village of Wickham, Alresford is a beautiful Georgian town with independent shops and restaurants and The Long Barn, a popular shopping , garden and lunch location.
HillHead and Titchfield are our local beaches and wildlife havens and a little further afield is West Wittering, renowned for the golden sandy beach.
Manor Farm is a favourite with younger children ( 5 miles) and the woods (Bere Forest) which are a three minute walk from the property have a play area and den building areas. Peppa Pig World is easily accessible by motorway from the cottage, (40 minutes approx). Otterbourne, a nearby village does Alpaca Walks .
