Lovely stay at Cowar Cottage. Really peaceful with amazing views. Fabulous garden. Shame about the weather but jigsaws, dvds and books kept us busy after rainy but enjoyable walks exploring the area.

On arrival David was friendly and helpful regarding heating and TV in kitchen. The garden is fantastic place to let our 3 little dogs run free in and brilliant wildlife surrounding the property. It was a very relaxing peaceful stay and will definitely look to come back.

We had a wee 4 night family holiday at the cottage - 3 people and 2 dogs. We had such a lovely time! The cottage is very warm, welcoming, and comfortable. It really does have everything you could need. And so much space! The star of the show has to be the garden, it's magical! We loved it, but the dogs had the best time exploring everywhere and chasing each other in and out of all the different parts - it's completely secure & perfect for my fearful, reactive dogs. When you stay, make sure to go outside on a clear night and look up. I haven't seen a night sky like that since I was in the Arctic. Absolutely incredible! Both the house & garden show how much work and love has gone in to them. You really can feel it. I have a massive soft spot for Dumfries and have visited a few times. I hope we are able to stay in the cottage again in the future. Thank you for welcoming us to your home and hopefully see you again.

Cowar Cottage is in a tranquil location. It is in close proximity to Dalbeattie and the 7Staines mountain biking centre which we used every day. The cottage has everything you need for your stay and has an amazing garden.
