l stayed at Hideaway Cottage with my husband, adult children and 2 dogs whilst visiting my father, who lives locally. Both cottage and location were ideal for us. The cottage was very clean, comfortable, and contained everything we needed, including a huge plastic dog bed, which was much appreciated (blankets are provided, but you might want to bring your own soft bed to go in it). Our dogs were initially a bit foxed by the upside-down arrangement, but soon got the hang of the stairs! The showers were excellent and there was plenty of hot water. We really enjoyed the hot tub at the end of each day, and particularly liked the privacy of it compared with some of the other lodges, in which the balcony and hot tub areas face the site road. Having said that, the whole site was quiet and peaceful. Our girls enjoyed use of the gym but we didn't have time for the swimming pool, being out and about every day. We would definitely stay at Hideaway Cottage again!
We were 5 adults staying for a long weekend. There were plenty of beds for us all. The sofa was large enough for us all to sit and chat. The dining table had to be moved every time we wanted to sit down and the tall man of our group had to mind his head everyone he walked around snot due to the sloped ceiling. There’s a stair gate at the top of the stair that we wedged open. There was 1 loo roll to start with but after a quick text we got another 3 delivered (so make sure you pack some decent ones yourselves). A kitchen spray would’ve been appreciated in order to wipe the surfaces and the few pieces of kitchen towel we suspect were leftovers from a previous tenant (so pack a roll of that as well). Whereby the 2 dishwashing tabs were appreciated, a few more were needed but this was explained to me in my text message. The hot tub was good and can be accessed via one of the bedrooms (something to bear is that you will be walking through each others room to get there).
We had a wonderful stay here at 53 Valley Lodge, Paul was a great host, communication was easy and we fell in love with the place. Everything that we needed was there, it was clean, spacious and just wonderful. Will definitely be booking again. Top Marks.
From start to finish, this was by far the best Air BNB we’ve ever used. The location was idyllic, the property was spacious even for 8 people and a dog! The property amenities are incredible- modern and clean, there was good parking, and the chalet was in a perfect spot within the park as there was nobody overlooking us and the Hot Tub was totally secluded. The parks facilities were lovely, nice “local” feel pub , good swimming facilities and the kids had a great time.. We will be looking to book in summer so that we can enjoy more that this part of Cornwall has to offer. Thank you Paul - you are the best!!!
If you fancy a lovely quiet getaway with local amenities available then this is the place to stay at. We have just come home from a lovely Christmas stay, couldn’t have asked for better surroundings! The property was lovely and clean and the hot tub was an added bonus. Paul was a great host and very communicative. We also recommend a trip to the on-site pub. Thank you for a great stay! Would love to come again.

Hi, your hosts are Paul & Ann Finch. Our love of the south west has been lifelong and the enjoyment of the countryside has always been important to us both. We are dog owners, so having somewhere that welcomes pets has always been a priority. I'm sure we have much in common with our visitors, with our aim to provide the perfect acommodation for not only exploring our wonderful region, but to also slow down to a pace that will re-energise tired travellers.
