New Hot Tub! Kid & dog friendly! Nestled on 3 acres, surrounded by aspens & bristlecone pines and Mountain Views! Rustic by theme, but w/ modern amenities you’ll appreciate on vacation. Fast Wifi! Queen master. BR2 has a queen w/ twin bunks. Stream Disney+, Netflix, HBO Max, Hulu, Amazon Prime! Great base camp for hiking, star gazing, skiing, snowshoeing, shopping and dining! Live music in town! *PETS NOT ALLOWED ON BEDS: $100 extra cleaner fee. Thank you:) Spectacular views of the Mosquito Range right out the living room windows or off the patio/Deck. Master Bedroom: 1 Queen Bed and a 40" Smart TV. Black out blinds! 2nd Bedroom: 1 Queen Bed, Twin over Twin Bunks, and a 40" Smart TV. Black out blinds! Both bedrooms have their own thermostat for your comfort. This cabin will sleep 6, but most comfortable for 4 adults with 1-2 kids. 6 adults will be tight. Open floor plan, the kitchen opens to the main living area which is great for socializing after a day of hiking, fishing, or skiing. The kitchen is fully stocked. Take a look at the photos to get a good idea of what's there. The stove and oven are natural gas! You will also enjoy a large mudroom/laundry room. Plenty of space to store your gear and hang your wardrobes to keep the bedrooms clutter free. Want to bring your furry friend? Awesome! Our goal is provide a space where kids and dogs are welcome. Dogs can have access to the large mudroom, which leads through the doggy door to the 2000 sqft fenced dog run. Enjoy a day on the slopes knowing your dog will be awaiting your return. No boarding! No pet sitters! We ask pets stay in this area when you are out. $75 pet fee. 50lb limit. 2 dog Max. REMEMBER to select the "pet" dropdown when selecting guests at booking. Sorry, no cats due to allergies. *PETS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON BEDS: $100 extra cleaner fee will be applied. We are exited to offer our pet friendly space to our guest. Great for children. the host had a playground which was perfect. the back yard was big. there was dog poop tho which was a challenge to prevent my children from stepping in. The jacuzzi was great. very quiet surroundings. I was a Lil creeped out at first with the foot step sounds when the cabin creeked at night, but over all it was a fun experience.

Loved our stay in this cabin. Had everything we needed and the perfect location for accessing ski areas while at the same time giving our dog room to roam. Stunning views especially from the hot tub. Very peaceful location. We felt right at home. Greg and Keri were super responsive hosts and provided us with very helpful information.

This place was perfect for our needs. We wanted to enjoy skiing at Breckenridge without paying the price of staying in town. There were enough cooking supplies and space to make most of our meals in house. Fairplay is a cute town!

We had a great stay! One night we had a cloudless clear night, turned off all the lights and soaked in the hot tub. Amazing view of the stars! There were an infinite number of them to look at. During the day the mountain views were great! Would definitely stay again if I were in the area!

The Abandoned Rail Cabin is nestled in a quiet mountain community with a mix of permanent residence and short-term vacationers looking to relax, unwind and recreate in the central Rocky Mountains. Located only a couple miles from historic downtown Fairplay where can enjoy the vibe of this unique mountain town. Fairplay, Alma and Breck all have great places to eat and have a drink. In the summer, enjoy a bike ride to Fairplay on the paved bike path. The cabin is located about a mile form Highway 9, with about a half mile of unpaved roads. County roads are maintained and plowed all the way to the property. Depending on the severity of the storm, the county could take a long time to clear the snow, so the need for 4WD drive is important. Check the weather and be safe:)
We are located at 10,000 feet. Be Prepared. For winter travel, 4WD is required due to potential of snow. No refunds are given due to snow storms or altitude sickness. Stay hydrated. Be prepared:)

There is a bus route that will take you from downtown Fairplay to Breckenridge.
In the summer, there is a bike path to downtown Fairplay, Alma as well.
