Lovely house. Could do with a bit of an upgrade on the kitchen equipment/crockery/utensils. But overall a lovely place. Location, if you are really looking for peace and quiet out of the city life, this is a place to be. 30 minutes out of Edinburgh. No shops around. You have to drive everywhere. For me personally this would be a perfect place for about 3 days not longer.

Carls place was very cozy and the local neighbors are quite friendly. There is a bus stop right outside the front door and Edinburgh is just a 30 minute drive away. If you don’t want to see the city, Carlops is completely surrounded by magnificent hills with hundreds of trails to hike. We visited Old Penicuick House and the Castle tower Roman fort, both within a 10 minute drive from Carlops. Carl also responded very quickly and was always kind and helpful.

We really enjoyed our stay and it was just right fir our needs. Karl was very kind.
