Had a great stay at Headwaters for a fly fishing weekend. Peaceful location and a great host! Will definitely look to stay here again!
This was a beautiful cabin and it was very comfortable. It was more supplied than we expected. We loved the hot tub and the beautiful setting. We would definitely stay here there again if we make it back to the area.
Surround yourself with Appalachia’s wild beauty. Headwaters is tucked in the Cherokee National Forest—strap on your boots and walk less than a mile from the front porch to Laurel Fork Trail, where if the season’s right you’ll be able to spot southern wildflowers on a short walk Laurel Fork Falls. Just over two miles away is Dennis Cove, where you can take a short walk to two falls and a pristine swimming hole, or opt for a strenuous hike on the famed Appalachian Trail.
Drive 15 minutes to Watauga Lake, where you can cast a line or paddle around calm waters while taking in mountain views. And if you’ve caught wanderlust, there’s plenty of adventures to be had further out among Cherokee’s 650,000 acres.
