Spent a week for our first visit to Maine and Paul’s Cottage was the perfect stay between coastal exploration! My husband and I are both homebodies who love to travel, so having a place that really does feel like a home as a “base” is important to us, and this cottage was certainly offered that much needed respite! Tenants Harbor is a hidden gem along the coast, nearby Rockland, Camden, and easy driving distance from Acadia and so much of what Maine has to offer. This private cottage is walking distance from the water, a General Store for basics, and a few great places to eat! For not actually being waterfront, the view of the water between the trees is a lovely bonus! Although the owner’s home is nearby, the cottage felt very private, on a quiet street, with a beautiful wooded lot on one side where we watched deer from the front porch. Not mentioned in the description but included was a mini fridge we made use of, although it was more of a wine cooler with how cold it kept things.

Exactly like the pictures. House owner gave us great directions to the driveway which is right next to the cottage but accessed from the street behind the cottage. Short walk to the general store, the Happy Clam restaurant and a bakery. A nice middle point between Boothbay and Camden.

The cottage was generally comfortable. Two issues detracted from the stay. The fridge felt warm and did not chill the contents. Also, no freezer or ice making. More serious were the several throw rugs that are not secured and therefore slippery. My wife fell and hit her head and hurt her neck. The rugs need a matting underneath. Not the owners fault, but online maps takes one to the wrong location. Specific written directions are needed.

This was a lovely place to spend 5 nights in July/August. The cottage looked exactly as expected. The deck was even better than expected. It was a really nice place to sit in the Adirondack chairs - and even wide enough to do some yoga. There is a view of the water through a gap in the trees - a lovely perk for a cottage that is not waterfront. We had a little trouble on arrival - the driveway is not on the same street as the given address. Instead, it's around back of that address. I didn't realize I didn't have the lock code until we go there. I'd received a "welcome/checkin message" from Evolve, so I had assumed that all the info I would need would be in that. Definitely follow their instructions to reach out 48 hours in advance to get the code. Luckily, they were pretty quick to respond to my text message with the code as we stood on the front deck.
