Our family of 2 adults and 3 teenagers spent a lovely week in this house. It is a little older and could use some updating - note for families with little kids the deck rails are very wide and bare feet get splinters galore. The third bedroom is in the damp basement but we were able to open windows to air it out. Tons of space in the house and outside on the deck. Large yard and trails to the shore were well maintained. The location could not be beat. Huge shoreline - we brought our surf fishing poles and spent many hours out there, catching several striped sea bass. We walked over to Clark Island and hiked the trails, swam in the quarry hole, puttered in the sandy causeway. We hardly left these 2 places but for a few lobster rolls nearby! Not sure I would rent from Vacasa again. The kitchen and bathroom sinks were pretty grungy and there was no human interaction whatsoever - automated emails telling me what they are not liable for/what I am liable for and no more details until we discovered the house binder a few days into our stay.

What a gem! We absolutely loved staying in this beautiful home and couldn't have asked for better views. The house is very comfortable and there was plenty of room for our family of three and my parents. We loved sitting on the deck, smelling the sea and garden while watching the birds and lobster boats and scrambling along the rocks to play in tidal pools. The beds were comfortable and cozy and the sound of the ocean at night was wonderful. There were lots of books and magazines for the adults and fun toys, games, and local kid lit for our kiddo. There's a telescope, binoculars, and many bird guides around too. The host was very kind and attentive and even called to double check that things were okay when I accidentally sent of the smoke alarm early one morning while cooking breakfast (do open the windows and turn on the fan when cooking!) It was a great stay and the only thing bad about it was that it set too high a bar for the rest of our trip!

If you are wanting a Maine experience, you need to rent this house! The views from everything room are breathtaking. We slept with the doors open and fell to sleep listening to the waves crash on the rocks. We spent the evenings sitting on the deck looking at the numerous stars. You have lots of privacy and feel like you are the only ones at the point. It was nice waking up and making breakfast then heading out for the day. I would definitely recommend walking down the road to Craignair Inn and Restaurant for breakfast. Everything is homemade. We had quiche and blue berry bread. The house made our trip!!!
