The cottage is simple. Might need a bit more cutlery, plates, bowls and pots. Not quite sure how 6 people can fit around the kitchen table but it is ideal for 4 people. As we didn't spend that much time in the cottage it didn't really bother us. For the price and booking last minute can't really complain. Yes, the cottage needs a bit of an update but again, one is probably visiting the Outer Hebrides not to stay indoors but rather out. Overall good value for money.

The accommodation was as expected from the pictures, you get what you pay for! There is no tumble dryer despite the listing stating otherwise. Contacted host, she has up to this point not responded (contacted her when we first arrived and we stayed 4 nights). Carloway is lovely, the community shop is a delight and blessing.

We had a delightful stay in this house. The place was well equipped and the location wonderful. The sitting room was comfortable which was a great help when the weather was bad. We slept well in the double bed and the house was warm and cosy.

Everyone was nice but the house was "tired". I'd had to change the start and end days by one day due to ferry availability and that could be accommodated online but I got no confirmation response. I therefore sent 3 emails over a couple of days and eventually made a phone call. Told that would all be ok but when we arrived, after the threshold time, they were not quite ready for us. Garden was very overgrown back and front, only 4 chairs round the table but rental was for 6 in 3 bedrooms (only 4 of us used the house in the end) and there were only 5 dinner plates. No information folder for the house and what was expected of us re stripping beds etc nor any local information. Good mattresses and sheets and towels and heating/hot water system good. Enjoyed our stay but a few aspects need improving and would not be difficult to do.
