Howe End (sleeps 4) has been beautifully converted from an old Stable Block with views over the fells. Furnished to a high standard, the cottage sleeps four in two bedrooms (double and twin room) with a shared bathroom. There is a comfortable living room with dining area and fully equipped kitchen. All linen and towels (one bath towel and one hand towel per person) are provided. The property is located in a large, 2.5 acre garden with garden furniture strategically placed to benefit from the superb 360 degree views. Guests have shared use of a laundry room (two coin operated washing machines and one coin operated tumble dryer) as well as a shared gas BBQ. Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome. There is a large field shared with other cottages, which guests are welcome to use to exercise their dogs responsibly. Unfortunately, we don’t accept any other pets.

We had an amazing stay at Howe End. Mark was very friendly and welcoming after a long drive. The dogs enjoyed the dog walking field, being able to run off lead. The cottage was very cosy and comfortable with the most incredible views. The icing on the cake was seeing a red squirrel just outside our window on the bird table. We will definitely visit again and highly recommend to those keen to explore the northern lakes.

We enjoyed the beautiful location in the Lakes. And the hosts were great, we had one minor request at check in and they took care of it in less than 10 minutes.

Near Howe enjoys a secluded location, but is within very easy reach of the A66, midway between the lovely Cumbrian market towns of Penrith and Keswick (about 15 minutes drive). Equally close at hand is Ullswater, topped and tailed by Pooley Bridge at the North and Glenridding to the South while in the opposite direction lies the picturesque village of Mungrisdale and further at 'Back o'Skidda' is Caldbeck. The surrounding area provides many activities, including walking, cycling, golf, fishing, pony trekking and water sports.
