I had such an amazing stay at Marie's. As a solo female traveler, I felt safe and in good hands during my time here. It was beautiful, green and the weather was just perfect for a weekend away from life in general. I had so much fun living in the little home for the weekend and fully indulging in the peace and quiet of the mountaintop. I got to look around the serenity of Placerville while also exploring the local area with food and the nearby bodies of water. Overall it was a successful stay, I felt refreshed leaving on Sunday morning and was so happy I had booked this stay. The goat walk was adorable as well. I was happy to be hosted by Marie and Jonesy and would recommend to anyone looking to get away and immerse themselves in nature.

Marie and her husband have a beautiful, comfortable, and eco-conscious property and accommodation. I felt safe yet had my privacy. Outdoors oriented heaven!

The view from the clubhouse was everything! It was clean and cozy. I felt safe and at home. Really good vibes at the farm. I recommend it!

Our stay at the Acorn Clubhouse was exactly what we needed - a nature retreat with colorful, countryside charm that opened up the senses. Coming from the chaos of city life, this scenic retreat inspired me to continue dreaming about slower-paced living. The view from the clubhouse as well as the tree fort were spectacular! Marie and Jonesy are doing homesteading right! Don’t hesitate to take them up on the additional goat walk opportunity so you can feel like a kid again! One of my favorite moments was being pleasantly farewelled by their dogs and goats before check out. Also, take advantage of the Guidebook of downtown Placerville recommended spots! We randomly found ourselves dancing during the Main Street Oktoberfest and got to know a lot of the neighborhood shop owners. Check out Mattywags and get yourself a cutesy Placerville gnome for your succulent garden! Grab some pizza and a pint at The Public House! And if you love sandwiches, enjoy a hefty portion at Timmy’s Brown Bag!
