If you’re wondering about the name “Cable Beach”, it came from the undersea telegraph cable that came ashore in 1892. In the 1940s and 1950s, when the modern era of tourism was beginning in the Bahamas, Cable Beach was the primary destination for visitors.
Notable homes from the era include the estate of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, Bahamian Nobles like (Former Prime Minister of the Bahamas - eg. Sir Lynden Pindling), and currently the home of the U.S. Ambassador - also how could you not forget that famous scene from James Bond: Thunderball (1965) when Bond takes an adventurous car ride with Bond Girl Volpe under the moonlight stars on West Bay Street (Cable Beach) in a vintage 1960’s sports car. #ClassicBondStyle

The house is walking distance to a lot of amenities food store, restaurants, cafes, shopping, beach and many more.
There’s also a taxi stand around the corner on West Bay Street which is like our form of Ubers and Lyft car service.
If you decide to rent a car there’s a lot of options across the street when you exit arrivals at the airport but take in mind that we drive on the left side of the road here and there’s alot of round-about a in the area which maybe challenging and confusing for some drivers. Something to consider.
If you decide to rent a car there’s ample free parking available at the home which can accommodate about 4 cars parked comfortably.
